Turns out the model was fired for being too large, at a size 4- here is an article today that mentions the image in question from the previous thread... it was indeed photoshopped.

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/33307721/ns/today-today_fashion_and_beauty/?GT1=43001

I do not want to expand on the original topic, as it was closed. I did want to just post that the image in question (on the original thread) has been removed from all advertising campaigns at the model''s request, because of the negative impact such an image can have.

BRAVO FOR THE MODEL!

Good for her. I''m glad she is being vocal about her experience with RL. But damn, she is so gorgeous!!!

Oh good for her!!!!!!!!!! She looks MUCH better in ''real life'' pictures. My goodness, she''s stunning and in NO WAY overly thin looking in that runway photo. Shame on them for making her look like an alien!!

Ditto this. Honestly, the whole "you can''t be too thin" outlook that labels have is just ridiculous.

I did like the article linked below this one though - about a model that is 180 pounds:

I saw that article in glamour - really cool!

TLH, I saw that article earlier today. How ridiculous is it that RL fired this girl for being TOO FAT at 5''11" and 120 pounds and a size 4?!?!?! I can guarantee you this much: RL just lost my business for good.

No friggin'' kidding. Unbelievable.

5''11" and 120 pounds is grossly UNDERweight. Think what you will of BMI, but that puts her at a BMI of 16.7, with anything below 19 defined as underweight. When I weighed that little at my height of 5''8", people thought I was chronically ill or anorexic. This sickens me.

Yea, good for her! She looks waaay better when she is a size 4 and not photoshopped like that!

I was just about to post this. Unbelievable!!!

120 lbs and 5'10' seems quite underweight to me, as well. Yet they actually apparently fired her for being OVERWEIGHT??? Then proceeded to doctor her photo to make her closer to their 'ideal' size??? A grossly disproportionate woman who looks like a skeleton?

There are just no words.

It''s shameful. Really. But I''m glad she''s speaking out.
