the signal light to turn green?..

Lipstick maybe, but not full war paint. That's a bathroom event not a red light stop!

only if I'm not driving.

no, but I will purse my lips and bat my eyelashes in my vanity mirror.

This.

But no makeup application.

I'm a bad enough driver.. I don't need to be extra pretty when I accidentally hit someone or get pulled over!

Wait.. maybe that's the secret to getting out of trouble?

Uhmmmm, yeah. I have done some "make-ups" at red lights. (Never, ever mascara.)

What's your point? That I should be organized enough to be fully put together before driving to work?

No, I'm too busy sipping my coffee, texting, reading the newspaper and having sex to put on my make up.

:appl: Yep, this!

Absolutely not. Never. I think it is an unacceptable distraction when you should be making an effort to be 100% aware of your surroundings. No phone use, no GPS on my windshield, no really loud music, no eating, no makeup. Driving is a responsibility.

I hope Poppy is turned facing your palm, a la Jennifer Aniston "too shy to show engagement ring" style, Justginger.

You can do all that at a traffic light? I'm impressed. I'm not even allowed to smoke in the car...

Maybe we both should. Some days, I'm still putting on clothes never mind makeup. ;))

I don't wear makeup to work though, so I can't feel too self righteous about not applying it in the car.

Nope, not the place for it. I followed a lady in a big truck driving down the highway at 75mph putting on her makeup. She was all over the place on the road, I am fine with if they want to endanger their own life but its not ok to do that to others.

LOL, she's actually not too much of a distraction. When I look at her, I do it properly - at work, under a dissection scope! :wink2:

No bec I don't carry "makeups" with me.

Putting makeup on at the red light is NOT putting makeup on while driving a MOVING vehicle. There's a difference.

And it's amazing how much you can do in those 1.5 minute intervals. :cheeky:

HI:

No, but if I did it would still be less distraction/effort than the men I see shaving, people eating cereal/breakfast, brushing their teeth, driving a standard/stick smoking/on cell and coffee.....

And yes we have distracted driving laws/fines.....

cheers--Sharon

No, but I honk at drivers who do if they don't start moving when the light turns green.

Lips...sure... Anything else... Never. I need my 10x mirror to make sure my mascara isn't up to my eyebrows or smeared below...

Yup - I'll put on lip gloss while waiting for a light.

I saw someone just the other day applying mascara while driving - - it was a fairly slow-moving street, but still!!!

Yep, I do the lipstick thing...one eye on the mirror and one eye on the light because I don't want to sit at
a light a second longer than I have to :cheeky: !

Sometimes. And some of those times, it's more than just lipstick.
Every sunday I put on all my makeup in the passenger's seat while my husband drives us to church. It gets me out the door quicker, so he doesn't have to wait for me.

Oh sure, I've done it!

I use red lights for txting and checking my email.

I have driven while eating cereal before. It wasn't really that hard. The hard part was pouring the milk, which I did at a red light.

When I was younger and a much worse driver I would eat taco bell food while driving a stick. When I think back to the things I used to do while driving it scares me. I now have a 16 year old learning to drive and it scares the sh!t out of me because I know I would have txt while driving when I was young, dumb and negligent.

As far as makeup, I will apply the lipstick/gloss and pinch my cheeks while driving, but no eye makeup. I poke myself in the eye while sitting still in my bathroom!

I'm another who finishes dressing in the car! Usually only socks and shoes. Or hair brushing. Maybe a nylon change. Breakfast is common too. Coffee always.

I only put on makeup if I can have my phone out and text at the same time.

When I was 18-22, (many, many, many moons ago), I used to drive stick, drink coffee, smoke, and put on my makeup. Of course, I wouldn't even dream of doing that now.....
