Do you have a distinct fashion style, or a signature?

Classic, bold, eclectic?

Tell me about it! :))

I assume you are talking about clothing ... if so, used from the thrift store, 100% cotton only.

Cheap (leaves money for diamonds) and comfortable is my fashion statement.

Sporty. Lots of yoga pants, sneakers, tee shirts, minimal makeup (if any), hair is in a ponytail 95% of the time.

Nope. I wish I did. So while I can dress cutely if I try really hard, I basically have no overriding fashion sense. I look at people who have style, who throw clothes and jewelry together inventively and seemingly effortlessly, and am intensely (almost angrily) jealous.

I mostly wear jeans. I try to wear "tops" as opposed to t-shirts, as I want to look less sloppy, and a lot of sweaters in winter. But I don't think I ever look particularly put together. I just don't have the eye.

Silly, I feel the same way!

I mostly keep it classic, because its pretty effortless. Sweaters, pearls, dark wash skinny jeans..

My best friend is madly in love with fringe boots, and will wear them with shorts in the summertime. Or she'll wear a t-shirt with a vintage lace vest over it. And, it always looks amazing!

I don't really know what you'd call my style, but every time we see this episode, my best friend always says, "that is soooo you" because this outfit is pretty much how I dress most of the time. Oh, and darken Carrie's hair, and that's how mine looks now that it's grown back out, except mine's frizzier courtesy of Georgia humidity. I love crazy patterns, bright colors, bold accessories, anything quirky.

I'm a student and spend my day running from classes on one end of campus to classes on the other end of campus. My daily look comprises sneakers, Levi's and a funny / obscene / geeky t-shirt. I have quite a collection, some are branded, some are not. Most are offensive. My sneakers are usually pink, sparkly or a combination of both, and always expensive. I do a LOT of walking, so comfort is important to me. I wear Levi's because they're the only jeans that fit me properly. For some reason, designer jeans aren't designed for people who are short and round...

One day when I'm all grown up, I would like to have some fashion sense... Like a pp, I'm also intensely jealous of people who can just throw on a few random items and look like they were put together by a magazine stylist. Makes me want to barf.

Absolutely I have a style...

I dress in very classic, boring clothing (lots of J. Crew, GAP, etc.) and accessorize daily with only a stainless Tag watch, a Tiffany sterling toggle heart tag bracelet on my left wrist and a Pandora sterling bracelet on my right wrist, a "new" engagement ring on the left ring finger, and shoes...could be anything from Reef flip flops to 9 west heels. I'm very casual yet tailored and I would say that's my signature style.

I like to wear dresses or skirts! So, to throw on a little black dress is nothing...I own several cotton or cotton knit LBD's as well as more formal LBD's in silk. However, I like to mix it up sometimes and wear color...this coming weekend we have an evening wedding to attend and I will be wearing a Shelli Segal fuschia cocktail dress that I've had for several years but have only worn once. I plan to find shoes and jewelry this week to sass it up. Not a big deal, and that's just my style-not a big deal.
:appl: I don't spend a fortune on my wardrobe although I would love to...perhaps someday when I have that sort of diposable income i will look at things differently, but right now I'm basically your girl next door. ;)

I would say classic-girly: skinny pants, lots of blouses, some with a little frill, belted dresses, little leather jackets, ballerinas or pumps.

Oooooh! I love leather jackets! The softer and smooshier the better!

I don't think I have a style. I usually wear khakis or black pants (or jeans) to work, along with a plain top (or sweater) of some sort. As a teacher, I get away with not having to wear the usual business or business casual attire that a lot of people wear. I spend a lot of my day on the floor with the kids, so comfort is a must. I don't own a pair of heels, and I don't wear makeup. The only jewelry I wear is my engagement ring/wedding band and a pair of earrings. Sometimes I'll wear a ring on my right hand too.

hmmm a style? Since becoming a mom I'm in a lot of yoga pants constantly (I HATE jeans). I guess my style is comfortable and easy. I do love pretty things but not willing to shell out $200 for a small piece of material that makes up a top.

I guess what I can say with much certainty is I have a color!! I'm in NYC...so my color is BLACK! :sun:

I'm pretty boring. I'm a tshirt and jeans girl at heart, so I often wear jeans with a tailored tshirt (Banana Republic and J Crew are great for tshirts that look more like "tops"). Pretty much everything I own is from BR. I'm really not much into prints either, so simple solids for me with a nice pair of jeans. I do like dress pants and skirts, but can't really wear either at my current job so now it's just khakis or jeans every day with flats.

My current work style also involves a lot of cardigans. I like wearing short sleeves when I have to go onto the manufacturing floor, but it's freezing at my desk, so I end up wearing a short sleeve shirt plus cardigan every day.

Fifties femme gone goth.

I have an hourglass figure that I finally learned to love in my late twenties: coincidentally enough, this is also when I learned to love vintage shopping! So a lot of my wardrobe consists of full skirts and corset-type tops. "Magpie" might also be a good term to describe my style: I love shiny things, including fabric, so if it can be made of velvet or brocade or heavy raw silk, it usually is. The funny thing is, I spent most of my teens and early twenties desperately wanting to be tough-grrl androgynous, with three piece suits and black leather wristlets, so, while it might not have suited my figure as well ... obviously, I believe in clothing as costume. :cheeky:

I'm trying to find my style at the moment, actually. What I'm finding is I gravitate towards pieces with a defined waist (I have an hour glass figure, so if I don't have a defined waist somehow I look much thicker than I actually am), and very classic pieces. I do throw together a trendy outfit or two (after bashing leggings/jeggings for months, I caved and bought a pair to wear with this gorgeous cowlneck tunic and a belt), and I'm learning that having one statement accessory makes an outfit go from "okay" to "DANG, girl!" Right now it's my belt. For instance right now I have on a brown pencil skirt, a cream top with some ruffles, and a beige cardigan. Not too fancy, right? But throw a wide belt on and it becomes a really fabulous outfit. At least, IMO. ;)

Anyways, my style is very classic and feminine. I'm trying to get away from jeans and t-shirts and find other things I can wear and be comfortable in.

Circe, I want to go shopping with you.

I would say I've a soft-spoken funky/dramatic style. I'm not afraid of color or pattern and I love details on clothes, but I never want an outfit to wear me. I love vintage clothing as well (hooray waist!), and tend to love things from the fifties and sixties (yes, early and late sixties). I'm all about funky accessories, as long as they don't overwhelm an outfit. I love to have some part of an outfit that pops.

Skirts and dresses are soooo much easier to "fit" than pants...no rise to worry about! This ease is my trade off for having to shave my legs more often. :cheeky:

I've had to learn how to put an outfit together. I tend to err on the side of caution at times, but also believe clothing functions as more than body covering.

I work in theater as a director, writer, and performer. Right or wrong, I've gotten more than a few gigs because I wasn't in the "uniform" of t-shirt/hoodie/jeans and/or all black.

I'm that chick you see wearing yellow shoes.

The wau I dress is a little different from most. I am a modern Hippie I guess. I always wear something with flowers - I always layer my clothes. I NEVER wear pants though - I hate how they look on me and I feel so constricted in them. I wear clogs, but I do all of "this odd" fashion tastefully.

I don't care about what is "in". I am mostly "out", and I don't really care!

I have many many sets like these - all in greens, pinks, earthy tones etc... I love how comfy they are!!! They are adorable and I get to buy them from "real" people that actually hand make them. It's nice to give business to women that have home businesses :)

I wear a lot of country clothes. Lots of jeans with tees or plaid shirts and boots. I like bold designs on my shirts. Blingy belts lol.

Casual, comfortable, classic. Think Jennifer Garner.

At home with baby: Yoga pants, tank/t-shirt, flip flops.

Out: Jeans with tanks, shirts or sweaters in solid colors, ballet flats, simple jewelry, basic makeup. Have a weakness for plaid, argyle, or floral every once in a while.

The feeling is mutual! If you're in the NY area, maybe for the next GTG we should have a vintage theme? Vintage jewelry, followed by vintage shopping ...

P.S. - I'm the chick in the red shoes! I'm at the point where all I need is a pair of tall boots, and I'll have every category of footwear in red covered.

Mine is kind of classic good-girl look. Ann Taylor-type clothing for work....when I'm being a bit more casual or "daring" I'd wear Gap or Banana Republic.

I'm southern and fancy!

I wear dresses about 90% of the time, I love feminine clothing. I'm big on shirtwaist dresses, because I have an hourglass. I can't stand the way I look in jeans.

I guess I have two different styles. When I'm not working and its during the week I wear these really comfortable shirts from Gap Body (I have an arsenal of them), sweatshirts, sweatpants, yoga pants (lululemon is my favorite!), northface, sneakers.

BUT...when I go out, I like to wear jeans, heels, and a nice shirt or a cute dress. Never anything too bold or anything that stands out. I like to keep it simple.

Oh, and I have an obsession with shoes. So right now I'm on the hunt for some over-the-knee boots.

My style is "clearance rack". Usually the Banana Republic clearnance rack.

I wear jeans every day to work, though I have started buying designer jeans. Granted, I still get them at TJ Maxx, but it's a step up from my Gap jeans of yesteryear. I think jeans look nicer on me than dress pants because dress pants are usually too big in the hips. I try to pair jeans with a cute top, but the truth is that I find stretchy cotton shirts to be super comfy without looking frumpy, so I admittedly default to those. On summer weekends I'm usually in a cheap cotton dress. Cotton summer dresses are just the eopitome of comfort for me.

I own heels. In fact I have about 6 pair right here in my office drawer. But what am I wearing? Flip flops. I'm usually in flip flops or cross trainers despite my best efforts.

ETA: I had to laugh because after posting this I looked at my avatar. And what am I in? Jeans, cotton shirt, cross trainers.

Mornings to drop off son at school~yoga pants, tank, hair up in ponytail. Afternoons during the week~black or khaki capris or Bermuda shorts and top. Going out, dresses usually black. I guess my style is comfortable, classic suburban mom. 90% of my wardrobe is from Ann Taylor Loft or BR.

hmm...when I had a job I dressed in nice jeans, tees (nice ones), jackets--tailored and boxy { in a homage to Chanel } with necklaces--pearls, beads, etc. Make up and fragrance ALWAYS. I usually wore ballet skimmers because I have a slight neurological glitch and have bad balance. Those were the good days of gainful employment.,

Today, while I'm home, I usually wear old jeans, yoga pants or decent sweats with one of my hundred or so concert tees, or velour track suits {don't judge} in the winter. Flip flops. On a good day I wear make up and ALWAYS some jewelry. If we go out it's dressy jeans with a pretty top and jewelry or a casual but pretty dress. For real events I have some nice designer dresses, but I don't expect to be in one of those before Oct. I live a VERY laid back life style these days.

I wear mostly classic/boring clothes...I've tried other styles, but this is what I am most comfortable in. I prefer having less clothes, but better quality although I envy my sister who always looks trendy and fabulous for a quarter of what I spend on my wardrobe.
Sooo...for work it is mostly Theory and Vince. Flats or boots.
Weekends is dark wash skinny or bootcut jeans. Flats or boots. dresses and sandals in the summer.

um wow, are you my twin? I LOVE gap body tees and am always in a northface. And I have been hunting for over the knee boots to jazz up my jeans + T shirt kinda style - i ordered the steve madden overrpas boots today-- we'll see how it goes. OTK boots are so hot :naughty: If you find a great pair, let me know!

Tigian - what you said reminded me of my SIL. She has great style and always spends a fraction of what I do. I don't know how she does it! She has a way better eye than I do and can pull together a fantastic look for a minimal amount of money. She also has the figure of a model, so that helps.

I would describe my style as Carefree Casual. I like fitted jeans and cargo pants with a fitted top, and some playful jewellery and open-toed sandals, for the feminine touch. Comfy yet sexy - in a tomboyish way. That totally fits my personality. I grew up as a tomboy but have become more feminine with age. I like having both masculine and feminine touches to my clothes.

Funny how individual styles differ. One of my best friends has a very elegant look....designer handbags and high-heeled shoes and expensive suits for work. I've hardly ever seen her in a flat sandal. DH keeps saying I should wear more sexy shoes like hers, but there's no way I could wear high heels every day! My other best friend's look is a bit more like mine, but perhaps a bit more on the conservative side.
