Do you find yourself drawn to specific threads or topics? Do people ask you questions on a specific topic? Do you think you have a specific interest or body of knowlege that you are known for by other posters? This is such a large board, but I know that we all have our own special places. I''d like to hear what people think they are.

I love vintage diamonds, and I often find myself opening those threads. I think I have had some luck in finding vintage bargains and have experience in determining what makes a vintage stone pretty.

James Meyer''s pieces are also something that moves me, so I''m often interested in following posters who have or are commissioning pieces by James.

Please share yours.....

I think it might work too if others give ideas of where they think posters fit in.... such as

When I think of straight forward no matter what I think purrfect pear

When I think of shoes I think of Freke

When I think of diamonds I often think of Lorelei... or perfume

etc.

I have no idea where I fit... but I''m drawn to the colored stone area, and I tend to like the fun things in hangout.

I am drawn to lots of different threads. I don''t have a particular niche because I don''t tend to stay in one area of the forum. I wish I was clever enough to participate in RT though.

I''m not nearly confident enough in my CS/diamond knowledge to participate regularly in the more educational/guidance threads. I know where I tend to frequent, but I don''t know that I''m drawn to anything specific. I read most of the threads via the Posted Today function and I respond to those I''m knowledgeable about or have an opinion on. I''m trying really hard to not respond just because a topic is controversial and I have an opinion. You know, trying to avoid the mob mentality that we sometimes run into here.

I don''t think I have a niche although I usually stay to the cafe. I frequent RT and other educational forums, but have long ago learned that there are posters who are far more knowledgeable than I am. So I just try to stay out of there way and soak up more of their wisdom.

This is me also.

I tend to hang out in the more social forums of PS. Every once in a while, I''ll browse SMTR.

I never really thought about this, but I suppose the most useful thing I can do is talk about experiences with vendors. I try to avoid talking about vendors, policies etc unless I have first hand experience.

I do like to look at the bling on SMTR, though!

I think of how passionate you are about fitness whenever I see your posts, even when some have nothing to do with exercising/fitness.

Me too! I don''t think I''m "known" for anything in particular, and I enjoy reading many threads all over the place. I feel more comfortable as a lurker in RT and the other jewelry forums (fora??).

i like the jewelry forum for its sweep of stuff. there's some charm bracelet threads going there that i absolutely adore.

i also try to comment on any threads that don't seem to otherwise be getting a response, so that everyone, particularly new people, feel noticed.

also, i've been involved in so much design as an adult that i often comment on those sorts of threads - the 'what would look good with this/what would suit me/what are the best proportions for this' type threads.

i'll comment on most (tho not all) threads that are looking for a psych. opinion.

i have a lot of dog and horse experience, so will comment on those threads.

i'll comment on any thread i see from anyone who is ill, has lost a loved one, or is hurt in some way - just to give a hug.

and i have a particular group of friends on PS whose threads i always try to post on...

(...and Uppy, you know you're one of those people! :) xo)

You''re welcome! It''s funny, but whenever I read your posts about what you''ve done in a typical day, I always think "okay, better get my butt in gear." I wish I was more active -- it''s hard not crashing after a long day at work.

I have tried to learn more about diamonds but I just can''t retain the information. I don''t mind though. I am good at wearing them and thats the main thing!

I know some people hate all the ''oooh''s and ''aaaahs'' that go on in SMTR but I am genuinely happy for the person posting their jewellery and I want to share in their excitement.

These days it''s often the TTC thread

But CS is my second stop, when I can make time. Someday I''ll have more time again for RT and SMTR.

I check out hangout first, then the preggo thread, and all things related to the new Mommie's or soon to be Mommie's TTC on PS.

RT when I have something to add. You have to be quick in RT, people respond so quickly, by the time I want to, it's just another ditto, and not sure that's what OP's want... Sometimes they do.

I love lurking in CS, that's my newest passion...

I don't have the knowledge to post in CS, but sure do love reading...

I like the menu here, there is something for everyone!!!!!

I'm probably known as the bunny lady. If anybody has bunny questions, or feels the need to see bunny pictures, I'm all over it.

Unfortunately there aren't many bunny threads for me to join

eta: I spend most of my time in Hangout and FHH with some lurking in BWW and SMTR.

Probably colored stones! I also really like Hangout. Sometimes LIW, but it can make me a little antsy.

I''m the class clown that tries to be a good boy, but gets in trouble a lot.

LOL -- looks to me like the drama follows you, DF, and not the other way around.
BTW, you just offended someone over in RT on the "Age vs. Diamond Size/Type" thread!

But it wasn''t me you offended! I always enjoy your posts and Kenny''s posts. Keeps things lively.

I spend most of my time in RT, and I have been chewed up and spit out a few times for things I''ve said -- but I''ve also learned a lot.

I am the resident Crafted by Infinity fanatic. And a notorious serial upgrader. But Dreamer may have me beat shortly!

I love Timeless Classics and Colored Stones, but mostly I just lurk there because I know zippo about vintage jewelry and colored gems.

I also like gushing over the photos on SMTR. I

photos of jewelry.

I don''t think I do... I think I used to to an extent but I''m content to let the newly obsessed take over :)

Where''s this drama thread???

9.gif

I like settings and have a good memory for them, plus I''ve seen quite a few in person as I am drawn to them. I was also setting shopping for years for myself so I think I have a good amount of knowledge about different designers. I''ve also done a few custom projects, so I am drawn to threads about them. Plus I like ovals and have an asscher and have read a lot of storms and others posts over the years. I can offer a pretty educated opinion on some diamonds, but mostly I prefer setting talk. If I a ''niche'' that''s it. I suck at colored stones.

Indecisive, neurotic, hand wringing. That''s my area.
