Wedding do you fear LOOKING fat?

Cali, I didn''t see your dress pictures, but I''m sure you won''t look fat. I saw the link you posted, and I think the issue was with the cut of the dress. It looked like the crinoline was placed over the waist area. If you go to your fitting and your seamstress puts crinoline in the waist of your dress you can have her take it out. I doubt you''ll feel fat on your wedding day. There will probably be more important things on your mind (like getting married, and having loads of fun).

It is kind of sad when I see people here saying they are fat, or they don''t like their arms, or something else. From the pics I saw of you guys -- I see nothing fat of off about you. Everyone looks stunning in their gowns, so if I don''t notice I doubt the guests will

I wonder if I''m the only one who''s not planning to lose weight before my wedding. I''m not fat (IMHO) but not skinny either -- wedding dress size 12. It''s funny whenever I went dress shopping, the SAs at the salon would ask "Are you planning to lose weight?"

and I would say no, not really ... why?

I think almost everyone thinks they look fat because the models they use for the bridal dresses are size 0 and 6'' tall. The current style of strapless is not forgiving for heavy upper arms, full busts or a broad back. It was so much easier in the ''olden days'' of 20+ years ago where you could find a dress with long sleeves if you didn''t have perfect arms or a higher neckline if you had a full chest. I know, everyone wants bare and sexy, but it comes with a price.

A poofy skirt usually makes someone look slimmer because it emphasizes the narrow waist. And you are tiny to begin with. Wait until you''ve had your fitting to make a judgment on your dress. Hopefully you''ll love it.
Absolutely true! I have always thought that the larger the skirt (think Gone with the Wind!) makes your waist look incredibly tiny.

I had the same issues when I was younger. I was pretty skinny all my life, and when I turned 18, something snapped, and I started gaining weight, and felt like a big, fat pig. None of my clothes fit, and it was awful. For the next 7 or so years I would diet, and obsess about how fat I was, and every time I would lose weight I''d gain it back. At some point last year when I gained back some weight I lost again, I just came to the realization that perhaps this is just what I''m supposed to look like. My is not a small, woman, but she has a nice, voluptous figure, as do I, and I just accepted that fact that I probably got my figure from her, and my figure would be similar. So now, all of a sudden I feel content. The only thing I try to do not eat junk, and cook at home as much as I can, and avoid processed food. It seems to be helping with fluctuating weight.

Besides, I''m having a winter wedding, so I''m glad I''ve got some insulation, otherwise I''d freeze in that little strapless gown I bought myself

I agree with this. But again it depends on the cut of the dress, and where the skirt stats. If it starts just below the waist it''s remarkable slimming.

I feel your pain. I have been a size 2 almost all my life and then i hit 25 and moved out to california and bumped myself up to an 8 in less then 1 year. I dont even know how it happened. I know that isnt fat by any standard, but I still feel horrible about it when I look in the mirror or pictures of me a couple years earlier. Not to mention the agony of throwing out almost all my clothes that no longer fit =(I tried diets and the gym, i think my new @ss is here to stay! Yay for the drop waisted ballgown!
