I''m talking quad skaters--anyone?

I''m making the transition from my in-lines back to quads, just bought a pair of Riedell 265s (Vandal) and I''m excited! My plan is to take this year to brush up on everything, and then I''m going to try out for the derby. If I make the derby I''ll need a good name--ideas????

We talk about a lot of our other hobbies here on PS, but I''ve never seen anything about skating. I can''t imagine I''m the only one!

If you skate, what''s your favorite boot? Wheel? Are you a jamskater? Track skater? Artistic? How often do you get out there?

OMG Haven, I LOVE roller skating. Unfortunately I haven''t done it for years, since there is no roller rink anywhere anymore!

I would go every Friday night, Saturday and/or Sunday..I loved the artistic/dancy style, with great tunes and strobe lights..lol
You''re making me want to buy a pair of roller skates again. I love them so much more than inline skates!

I roller skate, not well though. I have 12 and 13 year old boys and there aren''t too many things a mom can do with them so I bought us all roller skates off of ebay. We go to the local paved trail and skate till we get tired. I even picked up an extra pair for my sons friend who comes over often.

When my husband is home we will take our bikes to the trail but because I have a Volkswagen Beetle, I can''t take them by myself, that''s why I got the idea of buying roller skates for something for us to do together. It''s fun and we take our time and get to talk while we''re doing it.

I''m not a roller skater but a figure skater, and I just wanted to comment that my first pair of skates all those years ago were Riedells. I loved those boots! Good luck making the derby!

I commend you, Haven! I tried out for Derby three years ago, but I was just too much of a weenie and got hurt before tryouts were even over and had to quit. All the girls rolled on Riedells, though. You are going to be one tough mama! Any thoughts about your Derby name? Those might be my favorite part.
