Has anyone done this or thought about doing it? Is it even worthwhile, if say, you wanted nice pintuck tablecloths that can really add up to rent?

We''re only having 9 reception tables, so I don''t think it would be a huge project...but I was also considering maybe just using it for the cake table and making one instead of renting. But I don''t know if it would end up costing about the same or not and also not sure how easy/difficult it would be to make? (I am not a naturally crafty person, but luckily have some family members who are :)

i think its do-able if you only have 9 tables at the reception and I think that would look really nice and could look very unique because you would have the freedom to do whatever you wanted and would only need to hem the edges which would not take very much time if you know of someone who sews.

One word of caution though from someone who works in the fashion industry, fabric prices are crazy these days (at least in NYC)!, depending on the fabric you could be looking at $10-$20+ a yard, so it may end up being much cheaper to rent tablecloths rather than buying fabric to make them.

Another thing you can do is rent table cloths and try to find a fabric you like and cut a large sqaure of fabric (20x20?) hem the edges or sew on a trim, and put that at the center of the table and you can put a vase of flowers on top of that. It will give it an added touch but will not cost nearly as much money.

Thanks for the tips! I found pintuck fabric at Joanne''s on sale for about $6.50/yd, which may actually come out to be about as much as it would cost to rent one (boo). If I can find some coupons, though, then it might be worth it.
