In my hunt to find enough matching oecs to make a 1/2 to 3/4 band, I am having a hard time eye balling size :D. What calipers do you guys use and recommend? Bonus if I can get it through amazon. Thank you.

I bought mine from an eBay vendor many years ago, it is digital and can measure in mm as well as inches (in decimals not in fraction).

I had a look in Amazon UK's site, and plenty of them came up in my search. I would advise getting a pair with good overall reviews based on a large number of reviews submitted.

Thanks Dk.... yes, I took a look on amazon too but soooo many calipers from $20 and up. Think I will order a couple and try them out.

I have these and I like them. I take the battery out when it’s not in use.

I do that too as in take the battery out when not in use.

The case that came with the calipers even has a slot in the protective foam for the battery.

I first had the steel type and thought they were fine, until a gem slipped when I was measuring it and I realized the metal could have seriously damage the stone. I have switched to style below that are made of carbon fiber. They are very compact and lightweight. I’m not sure what carbon fiber technically is...but it resembles lightweight plastic.

Thank you for the recommendations. I was reading reviews on some of the calipers and most recommended the metal calipers. I ordered one and yes I agree if a gem slip, it could get damaged. I will have to order one like yours. Thanks again for recommendation
