This was in the news about a week ago... I didn't see it till today. Apparently there have been weird noises in the sky all over the world. Some people recorded it and put it on youtube.

Did anyone hear this? If so, was it really loud... scary etc?

Probably people all over the world having some fun by using the Internet to pull our legs.

I think I'll join the fun too, and make a similar video today.

You think everyone who said they heard this are pulling our legs? Do you believe in the supernatural?

Since you asked, I don't have much use for the whole idea of belief.

Stuff that requires belief, faith, superstition is stuff that is ... well ... not knowable.
Maybe I'm an apatheist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apatheism

Sure I'm human so while it might be amusing to ponder the unknowable for a moment or so, thousands of years of greater minds than mine has rendered the unknowable as ... well ... unknowable.

For some reason I'm okay with unanswered questions.
(BTW, just because you can make up a question does not mean there is an answer. To feel otherwise strikes me as arrogant.)

The fine print:
I apply this perspective to only myself.
I understand that the majority of people embrace believing.
No problem.
People vary.

I've never heard of Apatheism before. You learn something new everyday :))

So if someone close to you, someone you trust, told you they heard these noises would you believe it then.. or would you still say that unless you heard them yourself you wouldn't believe it happened. Or do you just not care either way?

I can't honest fit my answer into any of your options.
I realize this is very hard to hear, but there is practically a hole in my brain where "belief" goes.

I would just walk away being sure only that someone "I trust" said they heard the noises.

I don't find it hard to hear. I'm interested in how you process these things... well not just you.. anyone :))

Well, it being a prank made possible by Internet technology strikes me as enormously more likely than there really being mysterious new noises in the sky all over the world - with a bunch of home-made Youtube videos offered as proof.

Notice I don't say I belive it's fake.
It's okay to not be sure about stuff that you can't be sure about.

I haven't heard about this. I do believe in the supernatural, but question that video. Someone made a comment on the youtube site about how there was no visable reaction from people and I agree that it's odd that nobody is poking their heads out their windows and the people on the streets aren't looking around for the source of the sound.

Maybe it's "solar wind." There's a lot of solar flares & the northern lights are being seen everywhere...
