Diamond jewellry MUST haves?

The only thing that I wear every.single.day is a plain yellow gold band, maybe 2.2mms, on my right pinky finger. It was my grandmother's wedding band, about a size 2.5! I don't take it off. Ever.

I usually wear a set of 1ctw studs, sometimes pearls instead, sometimes a .3ctw set instead. I usually have one ring on my left ring finger, alternating between Poppy, my engagement ring, and my .5ctw OEC wedding band. I don't like having more than one ring on a hand.

Must haves? I must get a bezel-set pendant, hopefully around 6mm. I must replace my wedding band with a 1ctw U prong band. And that's it for now. :halo:

I MUST wear earrings and a band every day. Earrings aren't always diamonds, band is usually my (plain) wedding band.
Ditto.

Wow Lara, it's so good to 'see' you! Congratulations on bubba #4!!!!!!!! That deserves some serious blingage!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Everyday I wear my diamond studs and plain band gold wedding band. If I'm heading out somewhere I either stack my wedder with my 3 stone e-ring and another plain band, or my 20 pointer eternity ring. Usually I'd wear the eternity on my right hand but my puffy preggo fingers don't allow for that right now! :knockout: So at the moment it's the eternity solo on my left hand and nothing else! I will wear my tennis bracelet if I'm not too puffed, or a solid gold bangle. Not into necklaces much anymore *gasp!* If I'm feeling a bit sparkly I'll put my diamond jackets on with my studs too.
I can't wait to wear my DBL 'baby ring' RHR in a few weeks' time, when it actually fits! :appl:

Hi there Dandi!! I see you are 'with child' as well - further along than me, it seems lol!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I will have to trawl your threads and find your inspiring 'baby ring' :Up_to_something:

Hehe, here 'tis! I think it will be a staple piece for me, when I can get it onto my finger

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
OOOOOHHHH THAT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

It looks absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!!! Wow!

I'm seriously in love!!!

I adore that 'butterfly style' (for want of a better description) split shank. It's something I've been toying with, for my own family RH ring!
But I was just going to go with a largish three stone, six prong setting and a knife edge in yg....so I had got to thinking that the butterfly split shank wouldn't go well with the other style elements of the ring.

I like the idea of 'four shanks' for 'four kids' lol.... then considered praps a 10 pointer 'surprise' diamond at the top of edge shank (one for each knife-edge) would sort out the 'four' idea.

That ring of yours is JUST STUNNING.

You are brave for importing jewellery from the US....do you find it a strain??
I am all ears.

Here are no must haves. No one needs diamond jewelry.

That said, if you want a list of basic items that are nice to have in a collection:

1. A diamond pendant. Whatever your style is. Many will say a solitaire. I say... whatever floats your boat.

2. If you are married, a nice multi-stone band either to stand alone or to pair with your engagement ring. Whatever size suits you and whatever style suits you.

3. Diamond earrings. Again, whatever style suits you. Hoops, multi-stone, solitaire, halo....

4. At least one piece with color. Whatever stone suits you. Emeralds, rubies, sapphires, topaz....

That's it.

My staple/daily items are:

1) diamond solitare e-ring (which may be upgraded or changed to an AVR) and wedding band
2) diamond studs or huggie hoops
3) diamond pendant (solitaire or cross)
4) watch (not exactly blingy, but one does have a diamond bezel)

Those are the items I wear the most. I have a good many other diamond pieces such as a tennis bracelet, earrings, pendants, and rings that I wear occasionally.

I really need nothing else. I have other misc designer pieces such as Tiffany and Roberto Coin. I don't plan on any more major pieces since I mainly wear my staple pieces mostly as it is. But I love to collect designer pieces at bargain prices, so I expect I will continue to do that as my hobby! I'd love a few antique pieces and more Van Crayenest, too!

Lara, I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I have now bought from DBL, BGD, Whiteflash, IDJ and a couple of coloured stone vendors, and it's totally easy peasy, and of course all insured. Thanks for the compliments, your 3 stone ring sounds delish!!! :lickout:

Although *gasp* the pieces I listed in response to this thread are all I feel I need, like you I'm not one to swap my jewellery around much! I have my staples and I love them! So I can't see any more major jewellery purchases in the near future, believe it or not!!

My bling MUST-HAVES are:

- at least one honker diamond ering (two or three would be better, lol! :wink2: :naughty: ), check!
- pair of diamond studs, don't have one at the moment! ;(
- high-end watch, check! Actually, watches for me are purely functional and I'd be happy to wear a cheaper watch but my friends won't let me! :wink2:

I'd also LOVE to have:

- a diamond line/ tennis necklace (rather than a pendant, I've had a few pendants and have found that I don't really love wearing one but I should never say never  )
- a RHR with a monstrous pink sapphire and/ or one with a velvety green emerald, abt 8-10ct
- an alternate ering/ RHR: I'd love an old antique diamond, either cushion or EC or OEC

I also have a bracelet and would love to have another one. It's not a jewellery must-have but I love wearing them. :cheeky:

Lara, hey!! :wavey:

Long time no see. How are you? Hope you and the little 'uns are fine!

What does the bolded part mean? Pls share. Did I mention that my DH is a rugby nut too?! :cheeky:

3-stone RHR?!! YAY!! :appl: :appl: I can't wait to see it. When do you expect to have the final ring? Enquiring minds want to know and all, lol! :naughty:

Hey Phoenix, OF COURSE you mentioned your hubby's rugby-loving characteristics, that's why I mentioned mine as well lol

Now, I am interested in your opinion, and I think I'll be starting a thread on this - but....which would you prefer: a three stone featuring .70/1.36/. 70................. or a solitaire 2c? as a RHR?

And if a solitaire, how should it be styled :Up_to_something:

Hold that thought, I'll start a thread:
