So, I know I haven’t posted in forever- and for that I am sorry…but know that I’ve been stalking you all reading up on how you’re all doing!

Time for an update I suppose!

Dan and I are getting married…in less then 3 months! When did we decide this.. um 2 weeks ago? Hahaha.
We’re a bit impulsive- and I have put off setting a date for the wedding for so long (well not THAT long but we’ve been engaged a year and hadn’t set a date)- I actually realized that it was because I didn’t like how I looked- but in the last two months I lost 35 pounds! J and feel great!
SO, in less then 3 months we are getting married!

We love the idea of a winter wonderland wedding…my “theme” will be color wise, white and black- but more importantly romantic and whimsical. The ceremony will be at 6pm, and during winter it’s dark at like 4pm…so ALL of our decorations will be white Christmas lights and candles…there will be no “lights” turned on other then those.
I honestly can not wait…
I found my dress in less then a week- for $50! I booked the minister, my mom is taking care of ALL the decorations and chairs. As for the food, we are having a late ceremony but still want to have some…so my mom is making chili, warm soup, and “comfort” winter food.
We debated wide and long about where to have the ceremony…and had a hard time to decide- BUT we are going to have it at my mom’s place… because she has a log house (she is going to empty the living room which is double story with large windows), and have all the lights there. I decided on this for two reasons- I wanted the log feel, AND I wanted to be close to the beach… YES I know its winter… but imagine the pictures with all the snow?
My sister is getting us a photographer for our wedding gift, and I’ve talked to her quite a few times to discuss what we are looking for.
We got the wedding bands, and his suit!

We are flying home for the wedding, so it will be GREAT to see all our family and friends. I have picked my bridal party- and have selected their gifts (I am knitting them each a scarf in beautiful yarn…with each of their colors that “fits” them… which will be cute for outdoor pictures. I am having silver compact mirrors engraved with a personal message (that are really cute- and none have been in wedding parties so it doesn’t bother me that engraved gifts are commonplace at weddings), and I am having customized bracelets made that they can wear on the day…they will basically be silver bracelets with all of our birthstones – I’ll attach a picture of a sample picture in one color).

None of my family has ever met our dog, and we are bringing him home with us (he is small and can fit in the cabin!) so everyone is VERY excited for that too!

For our honeymoon, well since we are going home for two weeks- our vacation time will be short (in terms of additional time) so my parents own two houses, which we’ll have a house of our own for the two weeks we are there- and they plan on sending us away for a night or two as a gift!) So, I am very excited and very lucky to have the parents I have!

Sorry so long, haha, I guess I shouldn’t wait so long before updating you guys with info eh?

Hi sparkly stars!

It is very neat that you posted on here and are planning a wedding in 3 months - I have been posting recently about that! I just got engaged this week, but we have been discussing ideas for quite some time, and a winter wedding was one we loved. So now we''re in the process of deciding whether or not to plan a wedding in 3-4 months (most likely January) or wait until later next year, probably late spring or late fall. Winter is sooo dreamy though! But I just don''t know if 3 months is going to be too little time.

Mind if I ask where you are (just general area)? I''m in North Carolina, so either I have to make it feel wintery inside because it never snows here, or we have to choose a location hours from here that will have snow in the winter. (I have a thread up about that right now in BIW about ski resort weddings.) Yours sounds so dreamy with the beach and the snow - best of both worlds in my book!! Sounds like your planning has been very easy, and you have lots of great people behind you to help. I hope you''re enjoying it so far - I''m about to be on your tail end following those same steps in the planning - hopefully mine will go as smoothly as yours!

Guess I should have asked where the wedding is going to be, not where you are how, hehe.

By the way, is that your wedding ring? It''s so beautiful! Does it have a matching e-ring?

hello!
Well, we''re in Canada- we live in Calgary, and we''re going home to New Brunswick to the East Coast- where there is TONS of snow (but with MY luck, there will be no snow when we go home. ha ha ha) I joked with my mom that we''d have to hire a snow maker if that was the case.

Despite how short of time we have to organize the wedding-I honestly am one of those "planners" - so I made a list of things that had to be done, and then I set the order in which things had to be done.
I found the dress used- but I loved it, it was in my size, and it was $50. (I would like to note that I am queen of savings too haha).
My biggest stress was getting the minister (since I was originally not going to tell anyone at home and we were going to surprise them) BUT because of the distance..I needed some help.
My second biggest stress was Dan''s suit, because he is really tall- we went to the big and tall store, and he was "too small" for that store...but then when we went to the normal chain, he was too big for it haha. Luckily, we had a really good sales associate.

If you need any help or suggestions- I will help you! :)
As for the location- I don''t think you need snow, maybe look for a "lodge" with a fireplace... I''m a big big fan of candles and white xmas lights...(I think what I''m MOST excited about actually) hehe.

PS. the picture is the bracelet I am having made for my bridal party girls! (but with all of our birthstones re-arranged- There will be November, March, and October- so Yellow, Baby blue, and Pink)
:)
