This show is one of my guiltiest of guilty pleasures... which is not to say that I can't find things that bug me!

Like...

What's with these pro dancers who insist on turning a tribute dance - as in dances many of the male starts dedicated to their mothers, or even cousins who died much too young - into steamy sexy dances??? And should I rant at the stars or the costume designers for absolutely tasteless costumes - like the aforementioned tributes to Mom - danced in a skimpy sequined bathing suit draped with a single pane of sheer chiffon????

Kudos to Dmitri for choreographing a dance that captured perfectly Petra's tribute to the children impacted by the tsunami that almost killed her!

ETA - I remember watching Sugar Ray Leonard fight in his first Olympics... I'll pull for him just because of that, and because he's hung on for so long, and because he's clearly giving it his all!

I watched last weeks episode but forgot to watch last night. I watch Dancing with the Stars so I will have to pay attention the next time I watch it for the tributes. I am glad you started a DWTS thread :appl:

I love Kirstie!

I also really like watching Sugar Ray, he is just adorable. You can tell he is trying so hard, even though he is not the best. I'm ready for Wendy to go home.

I really enjoyed last night's dances.

I like Wendy, but I think it may be her turn to go home tonight. I like Sugar Ray, too, but he could be in the bottom two again, tonight. He just may not have the fan base to keep him going.

I'm surprised at how much I'm liking Kirstie. I didn't expect her to work so hard and dance so well. I also think that Max really likes working with her, which shows in their dancing together. (It was so clear last seaon that he really didn't like working with Brandi.) I hope his thigh is okay. They both handled last night's fall so well. Clearly, he was in pain, but being a pro, he shook it off, finished the dance, did the required chit/chat with Tom, the judges, then Brooke, then ran for ice!

I was so moved by the wrestler and his dance. (Brain freeze-can't remember his name!) I was in tears, even before they started dancing.

I guess our east coast friends are already watching the results? I'm looking forward to seeing the show tonight.

I'm loving Chelsea from disney! I also really like heinz ward and I still hate Brooke...

Kirstie has surprised me a lot.

Also, I really love all the outfits!

I find myself rooting for Kirstie. I hope she lasts a while. I'd like to see how much weight she loses and shapes up after having danced for a while.

But I have to agree with AN, Brooke has to go. Samanta Harris was great! Brooke has improved, but she just doesn't have what it takes to be a host on this show.

I'm always shocked at what Brooke is wearing every week. Sometimes it's just kind of bad, but other nights it can be appalling that anyone let her out of the dressing room.

OK, good. It's not just me! Who designs her clothes anyway? Fredricks of Hollywood? Oiy!

Meanwhile, Ralph Macchio is showing some promise. He's no Jenn Grey, but I think he's this season's one to watch, at least for now. We'll see if anyone else really improves.

I just hate how she always seems so damn annoyed when people take up a bit too much time talking..gah!

What the heck were the costumers thinking when they designed Kym Johnson's dress for "Proud to be an American"???

Major kudos to Kirstie for daring to don those butt-hugging palazzo pants!

(I'm watching "Dressing Dancing with the Stars - what are the rest of you watching???)

And who would have guessed Romeo would turn out to be such a good dancer. More to the point, why did it take him so long to let us see what a good dancer he could be?

Rant/rave over.

Re; Brooke's outfits ... they wanna SEE what they're PAYING for! I think the entirety of the reason she was hired resides on her ribcage.

I dunno -- I thought Kristie kinds looks a mess every week. Its not the weight. It's the disheveled kind of loopy, drowsy, semi-psycho manner & affectations PLUS ridiculous costume design. PLUS wonky makeup. PLUS rats nest hair. Come ON. She actually has a nice figure for a larger lady. She looks better in her PRACTICE gear and her HOME ATTIRE than she does in the performances. I think she knows how to dress HERSELF better than the costume dept knows how to dress her. Oh well. I think its HELLA brave to go out there & shake it like she does. More power to her.

Also think Ralph Macchio is robotic, Petra is petrified (ha!), Kendra is just barely holding it together, the Disney chick is a dead ringer for Jullianne, Hines is a cutie pie, and the wrestler dude is doing way better than I thought he would. Eye of the Tiger & such & such.

Am I forgetting anyone? Aw who cares. The Disney chick SHOULD win, but Hines WILL. Gosh, that's a pretty big limb to crawl out on. And I so liked my (nearly?) perfect track record of picking show winners. We'll see!

LOL! I think you hit the nail on the head there!

Actually I agree with you on Kirstie overall. I think she's getting a pass from the judges too... I think she's being carried in part by her personality and the fact that she's this year's biggest draw. Also agree on Ralph.

Next week I'll try to catch the WHOLE show! :wink2:

I'm surprised. I think Chelsea isn't a very good dancer at all. Her arms are always strange and she looks awkward.

Honestly, no one is blowing me away this season, but I'm still rooting for Kirstie or Ralph.

I agree with OUpeargirl, no one has me glued to the set on Monday nights this season. I'm kind of disappointed.

OKAY. I think tonight's "Macy's Stars of Dance" was the BEST THING EVER on this show. I double triple LURVED it. I want to learn the diner section. Geez it was fantabulous. I think I'm just super missing SYTYCD & this was more typical of THAT show ... but: WHATEVS.

(off to download "Tightrope" off of iTunes ..)
