Awwwww....the Bears lost today! DH is a HUGE Bears fan. He was at the game today (he has season tickets) and I watched it at home while pricescoping to my heart''s content. It was a nail-biter, to say the least. Ah well, no one predicted at the beginning of the season that they''d make it to the divisional playoffs anyway, so I guess life will go on. Congrats Panther fans

Awww.. sorry Monarch.. I really thought that the bears would at least go to the Conference Championship at least (not pre-season of course.. but once they won their division!)
I also thought that the Colts would go to the superbowl though. :)
BUT.. since I am a HUUUUUUUGE Broncos fan.. I''m happy that Pittsburgh has to go to Denver now

GO BRONCOS!!!!!

Is it me or has the officating been EXCEEDINGLY terrible? And, so swept under the carpet. We were driving home during the Colts/Steeler''s game. We listen to it on the radio & the announcers were STUNNED by the call back of the interception. We thought they would show a clip regarding it - nothing. Did anyone see it?

Sorry if anyone''s team lost.

GO PANTHERS!!!

I was too nervous to watch much of the 2nd half, so I busied myself cleaning the kitchen. Hey, my team won and my kitchen is sparkling!

It''s sad Monarch!
Would have been great if we could of had TWO championship winning Chicago teams!!

I know angel! I''m satisfied with one champion team, myself. I''m just getting tired of hubby crying every year over the poor old Bears. LOL! And hey, we still beat Green Bay this year, there''s something to be said for that (even if they were a crappy team this season).

LOL, angel that is a good one!

fire&ice, I did watch the steelers game, odd that you never got a chance to see a clip (on our sports news it was allllll over the station)

HORRIBLE call.
I could not believe it. They tried to justify it with his knee touching or some rambling.
Horrible.
The Steelers actually got a couple really horrible calls, and I was thrilled to see them pull it off.
Although the last two mintues of play, I can assure you I was a nervous reck.

Well.
GO STEELERS :)

ps. overall I think the calls on most games have been a bit questionnable.

monarch64, I just wanted to say that when I saw your title "Da bears" I almost burst out laughing.
FOr the past three days I''ve been hearing that skit in my head... and to my bf''s "delight" saying it outloud to him.

HAHAHAHA. I was listening to the game on the way home, and everytime they''d get the ball, I''d say " DA BEARS "
Hahaha.
I''m sad that they didn''t win though

Sparkly, that is hilarious! You can''t really live around Chicago and not pronounce it that way! I do remember that skit, it was a good one. My husband gets quite the kick out of me when I say "da bears" or any random sentence with the word "bear" in it, for that matter. Here''s the extent of my Bear-speak:

go Bear! (singular)
Bear down!
Bear win!
how ''bout dem Bears?
the inevitable "DA bear"

and his all time favorite:

MMBEEAAARRR! (you really have to hear that one in person, it is said in your most mentally-challenged voice, with much gusto. and you have to include the mmm at the beginning in order to get the full effect, which mimics a very drunk man clutching a beer can and jumping around on the basement sofa in front of the t.v. anytime there is a touchdown or any other action on the field that is positive for the team.)

Hee hee.

The NFL has come out and said that call was wrong.. but I wonder what happens to officials when they stink it up like that. I guess its good that pittsburgh won anyway.. because if they didn''t.. a lot of people would be angrier about that...

you know we''re not that lucky!
the tshirts were pretty funny

i have to admit, i get excited because everyone else is excited around me for them to win, but it doesnt mean much to me
20.gif
but i do have fun going to the parties to watch the games
3.gif
Sunday I opted out of watching and went to the gym because I thought it''d be empty...WRONG...I was surrounded by men screaming at all of their TVs for the entire hour I actually stuck it out in there, hee

maybe next year. however, if anyone wins, i want it to be the cubs!

Blue, that''s why I joined a women''s only gym!!!LOL! I can totally picture a situation like that--female tries to escape the football mayhem only to be inundated with it at her last remaining bastion of peace! I love to party with the boys and everyone else but you''re right, sometimes you need to get away from it. It''s damn near impossible!

BTW, I''m with ya on the Cubs!

Go Cub! Cuuuuubbbb!

hahahahahhaahaahahahahahahahahaa
monarch, all of your expressions made me laugh.

I still can''t get "da bears" out of my head,I say it all the time(in my head of course) to things completely unrelated! hahaha.. its HILLARIOUS!
I get a kick of it (of course if you didn''t see the skit, you may not understand what I''m rambling about) but I''m sure that for you Monarch, everyone must make constant jokes about it.

I''m a steelers fan, so my "bears" obsession is completely unrelated to football almost.. although i reeaaaaaaaaaaaally would have liked to see them win.

MelissaSue, I think people would be FURIOUS if the steelers would have lost (there were two calls that I don''t agree with) and I''m sure there were probably more..
Overall though, it couldn''t be easy being a ref, they don''t see the same slow-motion replays we do. ALTHOUGH that play(the interception) was called back, so I dont know..
OH WELL!
Goooooo steelers :)

No, didn''t see a clip. But, I was watching the stations carrying the game - at the time. So, maybe there is something in their contract w/ the NFL not to bash the officiating. Weird - it seems to get worse not better.

Hubby''s been a Steeler''s fan for years - something to do w/ a coach being from NC State. And, I felt sooooooooo bad for the Bus loosing the football at the end. Sad, for the Colts - but was happy that the kicker missed the field goal. He was off a mile! At least he took responsibility. Manning just bad mouthed his offensive line.

That really made my day! We are Bears fans from way back, and that visual was wonderful! Thanks!
