Love your dog? Why not wear his/her nose around your neck. Jewelry designer Jackie Kaufman creates personalized dog nose necklaces using recycled silver. The process is relatively simple: She sends you a kit in the mail, you hold the mold up to your pooches snout for a few seconds, and then you send the mold back to Jackie in a self-addressed envelope. She then creates your one of a kind piece, finished off with your name engraved on the back.

Wierd. But as long as it's not like... your dead dog's actual nose. Not entirely creepy. On it's way there though.

definitely creepy. :errrr: :errrr:

uhhhhhhhhh................. weird... I cant imagine that my rowdy lab would've sat still for that with something covering his nose when he was alive.

Hmmm...both? I do love animal noses, but not enough that I would want one around my neck. Plus a cat nose would be way cuter! :cheeky:

Paw-prints are cute. Nose casts are creepy. Good lord, what will they think of next ....

I think it is cute :) Milo and I play "catch the nose" so it would make me think of good times with him

Oh. I wish you hadn't said that. My mind is apparently in the gutter and I thought, well, I'm sure somewhere someone is wearing their husband's bits on a chain. Can you imagine someone making an impression of THAT?

At opposite ends of the timeline, both the Vikings and the **** industry are waaaaaaaaaaay ahead of you ....

I don't want to know the details, do I Circe?

I forgot to mention I think it's cute... but I like things others may find creepy

For example:

All my coworkers thought it was creepy, but others like myself think it's cute.

Is it a cake topper? Cause as a cake topper it's cute.

It could be, but right now it's just sitting on our kitchen island.

I'm not a perosn that just has stuff that is decorative. It's got to DO something. Even if it never does. It has to have a POTENTIAL function. Like a vase, or candles or a bowl. I may never USE them to hold flowers, light them up, or put anything in them... but I need to know that they CAN be functional. So figurines in general baffle me. And some (precious moments) just creep me out.

When I look at that I think "cake topper"... so it's cute. And POTENTIALY functional (cause you never know when you get the urge to stick it on top of a cake).

Now if it were just figurines... creepy.

love that cake topper!

The pendant is both cute and creepy. :cheeky:

I think it's both cute and creepy too! I think a cat's nose would be pretty cute. I lost my dog recently, I think I would have liked having something like this, more as a memento and not necessarily to wear.

Hmm, kind of cute idea in theory but I don't really like the way it looks in an actual pendant. Maybe I would like it better if it were actually my pet.

In the "what will they think of next" category, Charles Dickens had his deceased cat's paw mounted to a letter opener. The letter opener, at the New York Public Library, is the subject of an upcoming overnight scavenger hunt. Here's a link to an article about the scavenger hunt, including picture of the letter opener:

I think its cute and creepy. Creepy in a way that you did that of his nose, but cute for emotional reasons. I would do it, for my little boy dog, because he has a nose/skin issue, and i spend a lot of time cleaning his nose, and its just personal for us. So for me, i would do it, i dont know if i would show a lot of people.

Dear Gypsy,

I was already creeped out with the thought of wearing an impression of my dog or cat's nose. Thank you very much for making the entire topic even worse. You will be receiving a bill for my new keyboard shortly. Make sure that no "bits" of any kind are enclosed.

Thank you.

Your friend,
risingsun

It's weird. Maybe a paw print, but a nose? At any rate, there is no way in hell my cat would sit still and let me mold his nose. He'd go nuts and attack me. He's still young though because he attacks everything. Invisible things are his favorite.

The Vikings were relatively innocent: the design of Thor's hammer, hung upside down, had a double meaning as a phallic symbol. (Think about it for a sec.) As for the **** industry? No, you really, truly, deeply do not want to know. Let's just say there's a market for everything.

I can honestly say that I never ever thought of wearing an impression of my dogs' noses as jewelry. Just... weird!
