We''ve already started receiving gifts so I bought some very cute (in theme with the wedding) thank you cards from Papyrus. The envelope color matches some of the blues we''re using in the wedding and they have a very cute french style look to them (marie antoinette them wedding). You also get those great gold stickers that Papyrus includes with their cards.

I''ve been using gold pen and sending them out already. I decided to buy a couple more boxes the other day though and maybe just use them for the whole thing, instead of getting custom ones made. Later on I thought maybe I''d print a postcard with a wedding photo on it and send that to all guests thanking them for coming.

Anyone else not doing the matching custom thank you card thing? I had other friends do the same thing and I don''t think I recall caring either way how the card came, I was just happy to get a card. I have friends right now that got married last October and have yet to send one thank you card out. They said it was because they were waiting to pick a good photo to make custom cards with.

to be honest, I have never once checked if a thank you card I received matched the original invitation. I could really never remember what the invitation looked like. I think this is something only you as the person who picked the invitation and thank you cards would notice.

therefore, send whatever you like! I agree that it''s the thought that counts, not what the thing looks like.

I can see, if it gives YOU pleasure, that it would be worth it to get 'matching' thank you cards. But I don't know what kind of freaky guest would care one way or another! A thank you is a thank you. If it's on pretty paper, those pretty paper lovers among us will enjoy it all the more. But whether it matches or not? Would any (normal, sane) guest really care? Or even think of it? I think not!

Just get the notes you love to write on and enjoy, and I guarantee your guests will enjoy too.

ETA: definitely DON'T wait for photos to send the thank yous. Most of your guests would much rather get a timely thank you than a photo card, showing the photo being something that would matter to the couple far more than to the guests.

i happened to stumble across some DIY invites that I love (at Target of all places) so i am going with those for my invites. they happened to sell matching thank-you''s, so i picked up a box of 50 of those, too.

but, prior to that, i had started purchasing some thank-you notes in my wedding colors that don''t match my invitations. SO, i guess the short answer to your question is "yes" and "no" - i was going to be just fine not doing the matching, custom TY cards until I found these inexpensive ones that match my invitations :) i think it is fine to not have everything match. like the previous posters have said, it''s the thought of sending the cards out that counts!!

I LOVE thank you cards, actually cards of all types. So, I will probably buy some myself, but I think I may also (discreetly, through my friends, etc.) let the bridal shower guests know that a box of thank you cards would be a gift I''d really appreciate.

I think it would be special to have a bunch of different cards to send out...I love choices!

So, no, mine will probably not match!
