Wedding Crown Jewel - dress update???

aw kara thanks for asking. I saw your question in the flowers thread, but I didn't want to hijack it.

SOooooooooooo...I got a call from Julie, my replacement stylist at WA and she said that they will order a new dress for me. And I said, "YAY! Oh that reminds me, Joy at Melissa Sweet recommended I have my measurements double checked." And Julie said "ok, come in on July 1st since you already made that appt."

When I got there, I met Julie and Carrie! I totally dropped your name all over the place when I went in to be remeasured. And I used the very limited Chinese that I knew to humor the seamstress and Carrie. Carrie really is incredibly nice. They were very apologetic but when I asked for the new measurements and the new order in writing, Carrie said, "that's for company use only." ?!!!??????!!!! I even mentioned that my lawyer friends advised me to get everything in writing. I left without documentation.

My lawyer friends then BERATED me this past weekend for leaving without something in writing. They designated one friend who lives near WA to go in every day until they gave me documentation (I vetoed that). So the next day I called WA and sent a letter via fax explaining why it is necessary for me to have the new measurements and the new order date, as well as expected dress arrival date in writing, with their signatures. I got an email today from Julie saying that they will get documentation to me ASAP.

Joy at MS has been away, but I also wanted to check in with her and see why she thinks WA doesn't automatically provide documentation of their orders.

BTW, Carrie totally adores you. I said, "oh Karasue actually suggested that I come here. We were both in love with this dress." Carrie was like, "huh? Oh you mean Kara _____(last name)? Is kara Sue her married name?" I said, "well I haven't met her in person, but we talk on a forum for brides. She's really tall, she came in to buy the sample after I told her that Mona offered it to me..." And Carrie said, "yeah Kara! Oh she's so wonderful." And she continued to try to remember details about you and your life, and I was like "Um yeah. And she moved to Canada."

So. I guess this means I still owe more updates. I have been horribly stressed out about wedding stuff, and this is exactly what I told myself I would NOT do! I am so late on my invitations...I wanted to design them myself and I'm at a total creative block right now. Usually when I hit a creative block, I just sketch and work through it, but I'm also completely bogged down at work. Aaaaaaaaaaaah! I need a vacation!

oh im so glad they reordered your dress. what is the ETA for the new one??

hehe carrie was super nice, i''ll have to send her a pic of how the Dora turned out. hahaha "she''s really tall" i''m only 5''6"!!!! i told her when i bought the dress that a girl who had ordered the dora the day before had told me that the sample had been offered to me, and she was like yeah, we had a girl order that dress yesterday!!!

im glad they are sending you the order, i thought normally salons gave the bride a copy of the order, i''m pretty sure they told me they did that at amsale (the home of my first love dress).

you need to get going with your invites woman!!! let''s make that your next thread. what are you looking for? did you ever finalize what your colors are going to be??
