So, somehow I missed your wedding slideshow (I was away with limited access to the Internet) and, OMG, your photos are amazing!!!

FI and I had already selected a photog. for our DW, and while we received the contract, we haven't signed anything yet. We're having some second thoughts, mainly due to cost vs. what we get.

I did a quick search on PS last night looking for possible alternatives and came across your photography threads. I've noticed their prices have increased significantly from what you were quoted and paid.

I've already contacted them for more information, but my question is, is the price increase worth the end product?

If anyone else, cares to chime in, I would love to hear your thoughts.

This is our original photog. we are considering. Here's the new one.

Here's a breakdown of the packages:

Original Photographer
$4750
-up to 8 hours wedding day coverage
-unlimited black and white, color, sepia photography
-web gallery
-web slideshow
-full set of approximately 550 edited and enhanced high res digital files
PLUS: photog. keeps copyright to photos and we are responsible for paying photog.'s and assistant's hotel accommodations.

New Photographer
Wedding Package Two - $3250
- 8 hours of coverage
- 2 photographers
- Online proofing gallery for 90 days
- Digital negatives
- 100 Info cards featuring your favorite engagement image to direct friends and family to view your online proofs
- A custom online slideshow to share with family and friends
- 20 page 10x10 Sequoia Flushmount Album
- Engagement session with online proofing
- $100 print credit for engagement photos
PLUS: this hasn't been confirmed but I assume we would have to cover travel expenses (flight + hotel + car rental)

I have a feeling the cost will amount to the same, roughly, so it might be a matter of what you get vs. what you pay + experience vs. inexperience.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone???

I paid a lot less because I booked in 2007. They offered an amazing rate since they were just getting started with weddings. I personally think they are fantastic and I think they are worth the money (new rate)...especially seeing as how they''re including the top of the line album in that price.

Prices go up, so if you like them then go for it. Since I booked my photog and videographer their prices have gone up. The videographer skyrocketed since they moved from a different state to my state. It''s pretty normal. I think they''re great, go with them!

I think those are great prices for what you are getting!! I think CourtneyLub got the deal of the century and if you can get them for that price, although you are paying more than she did, it is still a great value. I think they did a great job for CourtneyLub and well, she probably deserves a finder fee because with the coverage of Courtney, it built their portfolio to allow them to increase their pricing.

I say go for it.... Out with the old, in with the new.

Thanks for the feedback Courtneylub, SarahLovesJS, and miraclesrule.

I''ve contacted Courtney''s photographer and hope to have a phone consultation with them in the next couple of days.

Cheers!

One piece of advice if you do use Bend the Light photography. Make sure you tell them ahead of time which tables of guests you want photographed more than others. The only thing I would change is to have a few more pictures of certain family members. They can''t read your mind though, so be sure and tell them ahead of time.
