$2260 for a G.E. 21 cu ft? but we did get a good deal on a Maytag washer & gas dryer for $1160.

do you prefer a gas or a electric dryer? my daughter's house does have a gas line in the laundry room so we can go either way. the gas dryer cost $80 more than the electric.

If my dad was paying I'd go ahead and get the counter depth fridge and the gas dryer. ;))

I understand that counter depth fridges look better... but there is NO ROOM IN THEM. They are for small families or singles. Or people that have more than once fridge.

Sounds like a bargain to me DF! Don't ask what we paid for our subzero counter depth fridge... :cheeky:

And I definitely think spending the money for a counter depth fridge is worth it. Looks much nicer. Can't you just get a larger one to compensate for the shallow depth. We have a 48inch and it is plenty of space and you can see everything at once. The deeper fridges are difficult in seeing what is in the back.

:wink2:
I wish...

We looked at them when we bought our house in 2004. I just couldn't justify the extra cost. We bought a regular fridge at Costco and frankly, I don't think the difference is worth it. It doesn't really matter to me that it is not exactly flush. I have never had a single person even notice it.

We noticed this too when we were looking for a new fridge, and bought a least deep "regular" fridge we could buy. It's worked out okay, and we need the extra room.

We have a counter depth fridge, and it makes our tiny kitchen look bigger. I was impressed by how much of an improvement we saw over our "regular" fridge (the old one died so it needed replacement). On it being small, this may be true. We don't have kids, and it is fine for the two of us. I notice with less depth it is easier to find things!

I wish they would give an option to have slightly deeper (4"+) cabinets to match standard size fridges.

We just bought a counter depth fridge a few months ago when we bought our house. I love the look of it but it is small. And yeah I think it was around $2500 or so. Pretty pricey. Even though it's smaller, t's just the two of us so it works. I was worried about Thanksgiving but somehow I was able to fit everything I needed in it (well we did set up a cooler w/ ice to store beer for a few days w/ the guests in town) but it worked out!

As for a dryer - we bought gas and love it. Whirlpool front loaders, largest size, I think it's the duet series, not positive though.
