Hello Lovely People of PS,

I hope you can help me. We are deciding between 2 sets of couches. Can you please tell me which of these 2 sets you like better? It would either be a sectional or sofa and loveseat.

Thanks so much for your help in advance.

This is set 1:

Set 2: (Set 1 has 2 recliners in it and Set 2 does not recline at all).

I like the second set better!
Personally, I like sectionals, but usually only when they''re very modern/boxy looking.

I like the more formal look of #2, as well as the fact that you have more options in arrangement.

But I''m all about comfort lately and dig recliners (even though they are kind of ugly, IMHO).

I really like the second set as well. We just bought new furniture last week. Yes recliners too. HA! We like to be comfortable.

Besides, Like T-Gal stated, sectionals are easy to rearrange.

if i were to get for a family room- i''d want #1, if this is for a guest/formal room, then I''d say #2

Yes, this is for our TV room which feels like a movie theatre to me. Big DLP (56 inch) in the corner of the room - If that helps in decision.

welp- I choose #1.. for comfy. This is what we will do with ours one day as well just for us, separate family room from guest/formal. My sister had something very similar, and it was comfy and homey if that makes sense for the family room.

My vote is for option 2. I''m a fan of versatility.

I prefer #1 for a more relaxed look. For a more formal look a Chesterfield style is one of my favorites.

Something like this:

Ditto. Something to check out with both designs would be where the back pillows hit on your head. My mom is 5'' tall and has a hard time with her reclining sofa - the cushions hit her at a weird place on her neck.

#2 It is more versatile, you can move it around more if needed.
I have a leather sectional in my game room upstairs. It has been great for the kids,
it even has a pull-out bed. But downstairs in my family room, I have a sofa, 2 large chairs
and one leather chair with a matching ottoman.

Set 1 --- I love sectionals for family rooms, they feel warmer and more inviting to me. And having the recliners will be great too. I know the two sets are the same style, but the couch/loveseat version looks outdated to me in that particular design.

I like 2# I think the sectional one would date very quickly

You also have a lot more options of placement with the second choice

I like set #2 better... It would be easier to reconfigure your furniture arrangement with the smaller pieces rather that one huge piece!

I like #1 for a TV room. One word: recliner! Nothing beats comfortably snoozing after a favorite tv show, blanket on lap.

For a TV room I think #1 would be the best. It''s not as attractive as #2, but looks a lot more comfy. Have you been able to try either of them out? Sometimes leather couches can be tricky because you can start to sllllliiiiiiddddeeee off!

I like #2. As many have stated, there''s more versatility if you opt for a sofa and love seat over a sectional. Plus, the corner set of a sectional seems like wasted space to me. Maybe it''s not but that''s how I see it.

When you have company over, will everyone be hanging out in that room? If so, then I'd go with sofa/loveseat combon. Unless you have close friends over, it's awkard to be huddled in around each other the way a sectional makes you do.

Can I talk you out of both of them? I know they''re comfortable and all but isn''t there a way to find something comfortable and not look like a muppet(no offense)? I did like the one Diamanteblu posted. I also think a boxy sectional is nice and more fashionable.

#2

Have you actually sat on either? I can''t buy any seating until I''ve sat on it. Especially sofas.

Also, have you had leather sofas before? I think it''s a thing people either love or hate, and I happen to be in the hate camp as far as leather sofas are concerned. They''re just less comfortable than fabric to me.

We have a giant leather sectional in our family room, I wish it were fabric.

Thanks everyone. Yes we did sit on both sets at the stores. The second set was actually REALLY soft - too soft. We went with the first one. LOVE THEM - OMG - So Comfortable and love the recliners - beat our 7+ year old hand me downs by miles. Thanks again.
