Hi everyone

I am toying with the idea of having a cathedral veil with a blusher for the ceremony. I found one that I really liked at a local bridal shop. It''s plain, with a thin pencil/ribbon edge. The saleslady wanted somewhere around $170 for the veil, and apparently it was 40% off

. Is this reasonable for such a veil? Or should I look further?

Thanks in advance!

I haven''t priced cathedral veils, but veils are very expensive in bridal salons.

I bought my veil from www.occanseydesigns.com for $40. You get to choose every detail about your veil, and I absolutely LOVE mine. I had it designed to look just like a $300 veil I tried on at the salon. Hope this helps!

Thanks! I''ll have to check them out.

I would take a look through their testimonials page. They have pictures of veils people have ordered. I think if you contact them they can do pretty much anything. I don''t have a very good picture of it, but here''s mine. I had pearls scattered throughout.

i would check ebay - they are cheap there

I second occansey. Kathy is FABULOUS to work with. Mine was between chapel/cathedral length with blusher & crystals and cost less than $120 with shipping, so I''d guess a plain cathedral veil would be FAR less. The comparable one at the salon was over $400.

Thanks everyone! Now I know what I''ll be doing tonight after work!

musincy - Your veil is beautiful!

What is their turnaround time?

I believe they said 4-6 weeks, but I got mine in about 3. I didn''t have anything out of the ordinary though.

Veils are very expensive...considering they are just tulle and glitz. If you liked the veil, $170.00 is actually really reasonable. However, shop around -- for your peace of mind, if nothing else.

musincy - Thanks for the info

Italia - After reading some of the responses in this tread, I''m thinking I should go with the veil I saw. It looks like $170 is a pretty good price.
