Congrats on your pregnancy gift?

We recently found out DH's cousin is about 3 months pregnant - and that everything is happy and healthy with the baby. DH wants to "send them something." I think he wants to do something nice, but I keep thinking shouldn't we wait until they have a shower or something? Or do people send "congrats on your pregnancy" gifts?

I would send her a pregnancy journal. The sooner the better so she can keep track of the milestones, etc..

I don't think people really "do" pregnancy gifts. But people certainly can do sweet things just because, and I think your DH is sweet for wanting to do so. In my group of friends, I think people did give books and other things in congrats for first time moms.

Ditto Tgal. I got pregnancy books from friends and family. I would save the big gift for the shower and do a book like HH and Tgal were saying. That is sweet your hubby and you are excited!!! Congrats to your cousin!

I think a journal is a lovely idea, assuming that the pregnancy is public knowledge (among your family at least) and she's past the first trimester.
