So, we''re getting married in June ''09, but I''m trying to get everything done before September, when I go back to law school for possibly the busiest year of my life. We have the venue (and caterer), the officiant, the dress, the band...

Anyway, do you think there''s a reason to interview/meet with more than one vendor of each kind, even if you love the first one? We only went to 2 bands (well, companies that provide them) but just the idea of looking at 3 or 4 more made me exhausted. Should I have done so anyway?

I searched through lists of photographers in NY Magazine (and the photographers'' websites) until I found one whose pictures I loved and prices were within my budget -- I''m meeting with her this week. Should I meet with others, too?

BTW, I also got the dress on the first day of shopping, in the first store, because I loved it and didn''t think I''d do better, although now I''m starting to forget how I looked in it and that''s freaking me out, and maybe I should have kept looking!

Anyway, are there compelling reasons to do more shopping around than we have? I think the anxiety of wedding planning (which is what I was trying to reduce by getting everything completed ASAP) is kicking in and I''m second-guessing all of my/our choices! help?

The only reason I can think to comparison shop is if you are trying to find a product you like just as much as the first you found, but want it cheaper. However, if you like the vendors and they fit in your budget, then stop looking! It''s really easy to second guess choices, so the best way to avoid this is to trust your instinct and then STOP LOOKING (ESPECIALLY WITH THE DRESS!!!!)

If you have strong references and reviews from an established vendor, you've interviewed them well, have a good connection with that vendor, and a good contract your okay.

As for your dress. It happens. Just go back to the store and ask to try it on again. It will mostly likely all just come rushing back. DO NOT TRY ON ANYTHNG ELSE. Just your gown. : )

Thanks, ladies.

Sabine - that''s the same advice my mother gave me. I think you''re right. I like the dress/vendors for a reason, and I should trust what I felt.

Gypsy - My fiance is a lawyer and I''m a law student, so our interviews are thorough and our contracts are Excellent (I had to apologize to the wedding coordinator at the venue for all the little changes we made - she seemed scared). Going back to the store (Kleinfeld''s) to try on the dress is a great idea! That woman on ''Say Yes to the Dress'' did it; so can I!
