Have you ever heard that one? It makes me want to punch the woman doing the commercial in the face :Up_to_something: (because yes, I do have a muffin top arrggggghhhh pretty effective commercial obviously haha)

I can't think of any other ones. Mostly I just wanted to vent about this one. hahah
 
ANYTHING to do with feminine hygiene! I have four children, and really don't want to have my 13-year-old son asking me (busting my chops) while laughing, "Mom, what DO they mean by that 'not so fresh feeling'?" :S

He has another one but I can't find it. He is on a horse and rides into people house and busts though the door to "save the day" by buying their gold and he rides off with it. It's also disturbing he thinks that his commercial will help business and I really hope he didn't actually pay someone to come up with that idea!
 
Too many to name. Hate all Time-Warner Cable ads, & especially the one w/the pregnant wife trailing around the house, hubby following along like a puppy dog. Yeah, right. Lame, lame.

Agree about feminine hygiene ads, not to mention "can't do it" ads for men. Good gawd!

All food ones where people take a bite, smile with their mouths full, and NOD at each other. Bobblehead dinnertime.

Do any of you really watch commercials? I've always wondered if anyone does -- if it's worth the money companies spend on them. They're so frequent & so LOOONG these days that I mostly record things to zap through the ads later. Ever noticed that in a movie, for instance, at first the commercials are farther apart but seem to come every 3 minutes once they have you hooked? Thank heaven for dvrs!

My favorite commercial of all time came out somewhere around 2000. It's a Nike basketball commercial and it is AWESOME. I can't find a good video of it, this is the closest I can find but the beat sounds fuzzy:

I hate commercials that assume the audience is stupid, which is most commercials.
 
I hate the bikini shaving commercial. It just p!sses me off every time!! You see a lady walking by assorted bushes and then they change shapes; rectangles, triangles, etc. Then it advertizes some bikini trimmer/shaver. Seriously, that's foul. I don't need to know what anyone's bush looks like.
 
Carl's Junior ads. For years they've been advertising exclusively to men. They want to pretend I don't exist? Fine - I have other options too.

I was about to write about this one!

I saw it over and over while in the UK last year. I haven't seen it at home though. I thought it might be a bit too suggestive for Canada, though I don't know why with all of the ED drug adds.

I did love the Plenty paper towel commercials. Especially the one with the goofy looking guy in the tight pants who comes to save the day after a lady spills her juice. For some reason I giggled every time it came on.

I hate commercials that give way TMI on medical, health, and hygiene issues.

I NEVER EVER watch commercials. The remote is my friend and I always switch the channel during a commercial; I'm pretty good at figuring out when they're over so I can switch back to my programme.
 
I HATE the Charmin commercials. Mom and dad helping capable kid wipe their butt and then everybody wiggling their butts for the camera in the end. Disturbing! Having them be cartoon bears doesn't make it any better

I hate all of the "MANLY" commercials, like the ones for Hardee's. They all seem to have the same stupid male announcer talking in his obnoxious voice. Does that type of advertising really work?!

It's interesting to hear about commercials we don't have here -- at least I haven't yet been unlucky enough to catch one for bikini shaving, urp. But, like Mayerling, I switch channels & come back to the program when they're over. Also, blessings forever on the guy who invented the Mute button!

The other question is, do any of these idiotic things make you want to buy the product?

I watch commercials. Some of them I absolutely despise. I hate lawyer commercials. I hate the Charmin commercials. Geico is starting to drive me a little bit mad. I do loathe the feminine hygiene commercials. Isn't an ad in a magazine enough?

The DVR is my friend so I don't watch too many commercials. I hate the Charmin ones, ED ones and ones that advertise prescription drugs. Sometimes I think Big Pharma makes up illnesses just to put the ads on tv, in turn making people run to the doctor to get their hands on some new drug. Ugh! Oh, and the Kia commercial with the hamsters! Who thinks of these things? I also do not like the Beggin' Strips commercial - just grates on my nerves for some reason.
 
Oh that hamster commercial is awful.

I DVR my programs so I don't watch commercials while I'm actively watching TV. Some things grab my attention when JT or DH is walking TV. So, I guess the commercial is doing its job.
