If you were going to Turks and Caicos for your honeymoon, would you prefer to stay at club med (adult only, less $$, not as many dining options, older property), go to Beaches (newer, many say nicer, more dining choices, kids are there, more $$)

or, would you scrap those AI and rent a house?

or scrap Turks all together and go to Belize?

Personally, I''d go to the newer, nicer place. Also, I hear nothing but awesome things about Belize.

If it were 1995, heck even 2000, I would say Club Med hands down... however, their resorts have deteriorated seriously from what I've heard and read. It's not the pristine get away from the world it used to be (ie, used to be no television or phones in rooms, and only a ceiling fan, etc). I would go newer if they offer the exact same things. Is Beaches adults only though?

i''ve been to turks & caicos, did lots of research, and neither of those places are supposed to be particularly nice. there are lots of beautiful independent hotels on grac ebay - i''d go to tripadvisor and check them out.

no, i don''t believe there are many all inclusives there. if all inclusive is really what you''re after, you may want to pick a different destination.

from what i heard, beaches was teeming with kids. it''s not what i''d want for a honeymoon.

We''re going to Beaches Turks & Caicos for our honeymoon! We''re going in early November so we''re not worried about their being too many kids. It got good reviews on TripAdvisor. Also, we wanted all-inclusive, and that was the only all-inclusive on the island besides Club Med. It''s got TONS of restaurants and things to do. Turks is supposed to be beautiful. The beaches and water are unrivaled.

thanks Laila. did they offer any sort of honeymoon package? Did you decide to sign-up for a honeymoon registry?

Ditto! The stretch of beach by Club Med is nice, but I haven't checked out the property. For Beaches, during high tide the beach frontage of is really short. The waves reach/wet several rows in.

I would also check out Tripadvisor. We stayed at the Alexandria, right next to the Palms. We particularly liked that stretch of beach.
Sapodilla Bay (spelling?) is also really pretty, very quiet and serene. I don't think there are any resorts there, more like house/villa rentals. There are some highly recommended picks on Tripadvisor for resorts.

ETA: Oh boy, I misread your post lol. Have made changes

We got married at the Beaches in Provo. It''s a pristine paradise. You''ll never find better treatment anywhere else.

that is great to hear! Thanks!

Did you find the children/kids to be an intrusion on your tirp?

I went to the Beaches in the Turks in 2003 with two girl firends (all in our 20''s) and we had a blast! The kids stay pretty segregated in thier own little area, so they didn''t really bother us. The beach is great too. And of course you can''t beat all-inclusive (including the alcohol, which is what will cost you the most). I would highly recommend it versus Club Med. We went there to party one night, and I think Beaches is much better! I also saw on Beaches website that they just finished building a multi-million dollar addition, so that should be nice.

Either way, enjoy the honeymoon.
