Wedding Cleopatra! We''re in the single digits!

How are you doing?

After a 2-years engagement, I still have things that are not finished 9 days before the wedding...

It''s minor stuff like placecards and programs though, so it''s no big deal. I had to ask my sister to try and print them because the cardstock we bought gets stuck in my printer... FI designed beautiful menus on AutoCAD and we should be able to get that printed tomorrow. We''ve got a few vendor confirmations to make, and then that''s it. An ex-collegue of mine who owns a small production company had offered to do my wedding video, but he''s been stonewalling me for the past 2 weeks, so I flushed him. Talk about unprofessional...

As far as stress goes, I go through phases. I''m either completely zen, or I''m freaking out about something. It''s never about the wedding or the marriage directly though, last week it was a spiritual thing and yesterday it was about money. FI is doing great. He''s nervous, but he doesn''t show it much. He''s been a great support to me, so that''s a good sign.

I''m trying to make a list of things to not forget when we''ll pack for the wedding and honeymoon... Any suggestions?

Oh Anchor!

I''m so excited for us!!!

This whole 9 days away thing freaks me out, to be honest! It makes me realize that it will be here in a blink of an eye and I have so much to do! FI has postponed groomsmen gifts until this weekend (joy) and my reception band is getting on my last nerve - apparently, they have no communication skills whatsoever. SO, I KNOW how you''re feeling about unprofessional vendors - don''t you wish they could FEEL what we''re feeling?! The stress just eats at you!!

I''m in a tizzy lately - stressed out WAY more than I ever thought I would be - and it''s showing at work and at home. FI can''t wait to get this wedding over so he can have stress-free-cleopatra back!

I don''t know if I ever learned where you are headed to for your honeymoon!! Where will you and your future hubby be going?

We''re headed to Ocho Rios, Jamaica on the Monday after the wedding! I''m already starting to put aside things for packing!! ha! And keeping fingers crossed for good weather and a hurricane-free week!!

I really can''t wait to see pics of your beautiful wedding! Everything is going to be perfect!!!

Ugh, I''m sorry you had to deal with unprofessional vendors too! What a pain. Did you have any RSVP trouble? We paid the reception venue (they do their own catering) Tuesday night, and we''re still getting phone calls from undecided people. Come on people, get a grip.

FI and I are having a mini-moon for now - 4 days at a local inn and spa. I couldn''t take enough time off and we need some time to save up for a bigger trip. We''re hoping to go to Mexico next spring.

I can''t wait to wear my dress and see FI in his white tux!

We didn''t really have much trouble with RSVPs. We''re from a small town and most guests are in town guests - hardly any out-of-towners...and with most of our guests, we''ve known they were coming from day one - so the ones who haven''t RSVP''d - we know they''ll be there from conversations...I guess it makes it easy in a small town when everyone "talks" - ha!

The mini-moon sounds fantastic! Definitely indulge in those spa treatments!! You''ll need lots of relaxation after the 2nd!!

I already told FI that I have one requirement on our honeymoon - I get a spa day while we''re at the resort - no questions

He''s happy to oblige - he''s seen how anxious I''ve been over the last couple of weeks!

Your dress and your FI will look wonderful! I just can''t wait to see everything! My FI is wearing a white tie and white pocketsquare - he''s going to look so handsome in his tux !!

I wanted to ask also, I know you''re mom is having her last treatment this week, right? How is she doing? I hope everything is well!!

Yeah, for us it was the opposite... Everyone is OOT (even us) except my parents. If I was going to do the family wedding thing, there was no way I would do it anywhere else than where I grew up. I was baptized and everything in that little brick church. Our families are spread out all over the province, so it''s not easy.

Mom is having her last chemo treatment on Friday. She''s positive and she''ll telling me not to worry... I know she''ll be ok for the wedding, nothing will keep her away from that, but I don''t know about the rehearsal on Thursday. She said that she''ll definitely be at the rehearsal, but might not make it to the rehearsal dinner "but that''s not a big deal". I''m never going to tell her, but it would be a big deal for me. I know it sounds selfish, but I''m sure you understand.

You know, I''ve had a ton of drama during the engagement, and I''m glad it''s almost over, but most of it I''ll probably forget quickly. My mom''s cancer, surgery and chemo though... That''s definitely going to stay with me for a long time. People say it''s supposed to be the happiest time of my life, but there are some pretty bad moments in there.

Sorry to be so depressing! Are there some things you usually forget that you think I should add to my packing list? I always forget my pyjamas or my toothbrush...

Glad to hear things are going well with your mom - I''ll keep my fingers crossed that this treatment tomorrow will be easy on her

And I totally understand about the rehearsal dinner - these are the events in your life that you want to share every second with those you love - you''re not being selfish one bit - in fact, you''re being very loving and understanding knowing that she may not be there and letting her get her rest for the big day!

As for packing, I always forget sunscreen - if you''ll be outdoors, bring some! Walking shoes, a nice outfit or two for nice dinners with your hubby....I always forget deodorant when I''m packing

, hmmm - what else? Razors - must being razors...Oh yeah - have you checked out the "Honeymoon Lingerie" thread??
