Clarisonic Mia skin tool

no .. sadly U.S. priority international mail doesn''t share my belief in the definition of priority! :) I''m hoping it will be here by Monday or Tuesday at the latest! I bought it last Sunday..

FINALLY!!! It arrived today! I was so excited I couldn''t stand it!! I immediately opened it and had to use it.. lol
9.gif
It arrived with a sample of the body cleanser (which will get used tomorrow) and of the Elemis resurfacing cleanser & pro-collagen cream. I''m actually really excited about using this daily. I''m more excited about the hopeful results!

I thought you need to let it charge for 24 hrs before use, or the battery won''t hold a charge properly?

How was it? We need details!

Ha, my sister just got hers today (told her about this thread and she beat me to ordering one!) and she cheated and used it as soon as she got home from work and opened the package. It had a charge already so she figured it was fine!

She said her face immediately felt softer and it was definitely loosening up her clogged pores/white bumps on her face. I''m going to order mine very soon...I can''t decide if I want the MIA or the full-sized one. My sister got the MIA but I might want to use the body tool too.

SDL-fill us in once you use yours!

I read on MUA's reviews that some people had problems with battery life after a while, and it turns out that it's because they didn't do the 24 hr charge first. If you do it properly, it can hold a charge for a week or more even with daily use!

Mine is in OK right now; only one state away, but not close enough! It's going to be awful keeping my eager paws off it for the 24 hrs! I have such a serious clogged pore problem that I am just itching tackle it with the Mia! Does it come with the Sensitive head by default? Also, apparently the brushes all fit the Mia so people just buy the body brush refill heads and slap 'em on their Mia.

Oops-she''s bad! Hopefully she didn''t ruin the battery! I would have done the same thing...patience is not a virtue of mine!

Good to know about the body brushes fitting onto the Mia! I''m not sure which head came with hers but she got it from the same place vesper did-skinstore.com.

Now I really want one! I''m so sick of my skin being awful. I really just want to smooth it out and clear it up.

SDL-do you think your full size Clarisonic is too heavy or bulky? I want it to be comfortable and some people have said the larger size is kind of heavy. But I would like the larger for the body brush. Hmmm...can't decide and I want to order one right now!

ETA funny that you and my sister both used it ASAP! If it has a charge they can't possibly expect you not to use it right away, right?

Thing, I have one of the full-sized models (the Pro) and it''s really not too bad. I''m sure it''s heavier than the Mia, but I don''t think it''s too heavy/bulky at all and I use it twice a day, every day!

Mine took SIX RIDICULOUS DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am stalking mine online. It just left OK about 55 minutes ago, according to the departure scan! I hope it''s here at the distribution center tomorrow and in my hands by Wednesday. Then I can''t use it until Thursday!
39.gif

mine was shipped USPS Priority Mail International from the U.S. to Alberta, Canada. I ordered it last Sunday evening, and it''s now 8 days later!

I''ve just emailed the seller (Ebay) to ask when the item was actually shipped..

I''m such a wimp - I think the mia is still on the heavy side after two minutes on some days.

Just a warning, don''t rub it in too hard, or you risk zits and broken capillaries. And if you''re really lucky, loose boogers on the brush head! hahahahaha j/k

But seriously, I think it tickles less when I remember to blow my nose before washing my face.

*scurries off to wash up*

Ooh I''m so tempted to order one of these!

I can''t wait to hear the group consensus on it !

I dont think its so heavy really. I thought how nice it would be for hubby to be able to use too.. you know? I know there''s a weight difference between the two sizes, but for me this was the right choice.

Thanks SDL! And I actually wouldn''t mind sharing if my husband could be trusted to change the brush to his own! We have different ideas about what''s gross, and sharing face cleaning brushes is
14.gif
in my opinion! I can''t wait for it to get here...perfect skin here I come!

Now I really want one! I''m so sick of my skin being awful. I really just want to smooth it out and clear it up.
At 43, I am sick of having adult acne and having to use tricks to hide it (I''m the queen of this!). I would love to be able only to have to use light foundation without worrying I have to put on a mass of make up every day. I would love to do without most of it, actually!!
Exactly! If I could get away with just tinted moisturizer and mascara I''d be so happy. I use an absurd amount of products on my face right now to disguise my awful skin. If this really works, it''d be worth every penny to me. (I''d probably end up saving money on make-up, anyways!)

Mine arrived today! Ulta does lightning fast free shipping, apparently.
6.gif

It''s currently charging and it will be torture waiting until tomorrow to try it out! I did find it in the instructions to charge it for 24hrs before first use, but why don''t they stick a warning label on the device itself? People can''t be expected to read the instructions carefully before using it, we want to try it NOW!

Hahaha, I get the *itchiest* nose ever when using my electric toothbrush. I feel your pain!

So I emailed the ebay seller I bought mine from - he wrote back saying that the listing stated that they would only ship after April 19th. This is absolutely not true - no such statement was present when I bought on April 4th. The new listings of this product have been updated and say that, but on "My Ebay" site, I can see the actual listing that I purchased from and the words are not there.

I am quite annoyed that:
1) I have been lied to
2) I have to wait 2 MORE weeks for something I bought 9 days ago expecting (as it said in the listing) that it would ship within 1-2 business days of receiving payment. I paid 5 minutes after I won the listing on April 4th.

I''ve had my Mia for exactly a week now. It has really mad my face smoother and my moisturizer sink in better, but I have really broken out. I normally get a couple of pimples a month maybe, and I have about 4 now and a few bumps that look like they are about to become pimples

Fossil, don''t worry . . . I know it sounds crazy, but this is actually a GOOD thing! You''re breaking out because the Clarisonic is getting all the impurities out of your skin and bringing them to the surface. The breakouts should clear up shortly, and then you''ll notice that you have fewer of them than you ever did before!
21.gif

Ok - well I heard back from the bay seller who agrees that I am correct and then told me that they actually did ship my clarisonic, but that he doesn''t have the tracking number because his partner has it and is on vacation (then how did he know it was shipped I wonder? seems a bit off to me).
Anyway - he said that everyone has always received theirs within 4-5 days, and it''s been 5-6 days for mine. He suggested that I missed the notices (I did not) and that the post office likely tried to deliver it already (they did not). This is frustrating! but I hope that it''s true that it really did ship last Tuesday - fingers crossed that it arrives tomorrow.

Purging!

MUA has 619 reviews on the Clarsonic and the overwhelming consensus is that the purging stage is a given. Now that your skin is getting cleaned and your pores are loosening, your skin has a chance to finally push out all the crud that has been lurking under the surface. Think of it as security guards holding back a crowd- a few slip through while they''re being restrained, but you''ve just removed the guards! The crowd is flooding out, but soon they''ll be through and there will only be a few stragglers remaining.

Okay! You wore me down! I bought one! (not the mia--the full-size)

I should get it by early next week...I can''t wait! My skin has always been pretty crummy as far as acne, but lately the whole texture of my face is just incredibly lousy (and at 28, I don''t think it''s time for that yet!)...I am very excited...

I have heard that the clarisonic face washes are not great, and I know some people here say they use cetaphil, but I was advised for one reason or another not to use that stuff by my dermatologist (something about it keeping cystic pimples under the skin? I dunno)...I hope to hear about what others of you use.

My skin is definitely combination--I am oily in the T-zone, and dry and bumpy in my cheeks...I guess I''ll play around with different products...

I''m combination as well, especially dry around the sides of the chin.

I use Eminence products, because they''re very high quality, organic, and have reduced my mother''s visual age by 15 years at least. (She''s turning 60 soon and looks 45 at most) She was introduced to them by an esthetician friend of hers who manages the spa of a posh hotel. Her friend won''t use anything else on her skin, and when I started using them, my skin drastically improved.

I use two cleansers, the Stone Crop cleanser because it''s super gentle and hydrating without being oily, and the Mineral Cleanser when I feel my skin needs a deep cleanse. I also use their Pear & Poppy Seed Microderm Polisher as my exfoliator.

I finally got to use my Clarisonic last night and this morning, and used the Stone Crop cleanser as it''s non-foaming and very gentle.

I thought it was shutting off after 20 seconds so I timed it- wow, that minute goes by fast!
6.gif
I ended up using it for at east 5 minutes, because it felt like it wasn''t really buffing off enough of the goo. Since my skin is very oily in places and I live on Arrakis (west Texas) my skin has a layer of dust and oil covering it at the end of the day.
14.gif

It wasn''t as smooth as it is when I use the Pear & Poppy Seed polisher I have, so I will probably combine the two at some point and see how that goes. After using it this morning, my skin is still hydrated from the cleanser and moisturizer, so it seems to be improving the effectiveness of my products.

Also, I suddenly had 3 small breakouts this morning in my blackhead-zones, so I am encouraged! Anything that gets those nasty buggers OUT is a good thing! Purge away!

You all convinced me too! I went out and bought one a couple of days ago, and I have already had a couple of blackheads pop up to the surface so I guess all my "guards" are gone as well! I do have one question though. After I use it my skin feels so lovely and clean but a few hours later it feels super greasy to the touch. I have mild oiliness in the T-zone, but I feel a lot more oily than normal. Should I maybe switch to a face wash for oily skin? At any rate i''ll try it and report back... was just curious if anyone had encountered that before.
34.gif

I am still waiting for mine. Mr. Ebay seller says that he shipped it, and it usually arrives in 4-5 days -it''s been 8 now and he says he doesn''t have any tracking information for it and that the post office probably tried to deliver it (they did not). I am SUPER FRUSTRATED especially after hearing all your ladies who bought one days ago and are already using it! no fairsies! :)

It actually could be the opposite. Generally, your skin goes into oil overproduction mode if it''s been stripped of all it''s natural moisture through overcleaning and not enough moisture has been replenished.

I used to think that I had acne-prone skin, but it turned out I was just overcleaning it so my skin went nuts producing oil to recover. As a result, constant breakouts, more overcleaning, and so on.

When I switched to a gentle cleanser, the Stone Crop one I mentioned above, my skin stopped flaring up, although it''s still prone to congestion. Try an oil-free moisturizer and a hydrating cleanser and toner. Once your skin stops trying to overcompensate for the harsh cleaning, the oil production will slow down.

Maevie your story makes me glad that I resisted saving money by buying on ebay and went for full retail from ulta.com so I would have their return policies and safety net. I am sorry that you''re getting jerked around by that seller
