For those brides who are a bit obsessive maybe?

I have found that the biggest stress I have had, is picking a photog. And, stressing about getting across which type of photos I want them to take. I am obviously seeing companies that seem to have pics that go with what we are wanting, but I wanted to make sure that I get the pics/effects that we find stunning.

My solution is a bit daggy yes, but I have found it really helpful. I totally failed arts graphics etc, so I am not good at expressing what I like about certain pics to someone else. I grabbed a scrapbook and started collecting pics from bridal mags that caught my eye for some reason. Be it the style of picture, the effects used, whatever, or I just like it for some reason. I stuck these all into my 'photog scrapbook' so I can take with me to appointments with potential photogs so they get a feel for what types of pics I like. It's easier for both parties instead of me saying, well I like hey they do that blurry thingie, and make the sky look all blue like darker than normal, but not too dark....you get the idea, I am not exactly eloquent when it comes to explaining thingies and whatchamajiggies

Just an idea that some of you may find helpful. A few photogs I have spoken to have thought it was a great idea, and that they could get a really good idea of what we are after and what type of overall feel, effects etc we are hoping for before signing on the dotted line.

Hope this helps some of you ladies!

ETA - these are some of the companies we are thinking of. What do you guys think? Opinions? We are having a small destination wedding on the beach in the tropics, and want a relaxed romantic bright feel to the album.

I just wanted to chime in and say I had the exact same problem - and wound up doing the same thing. . . not that I wanted all of those shots specifically recreated - but the feeling/quality of them.

My photog said it was helpful to see what we liked. . .

Exactly buttercup - I don''t want them recreated to the dot either, but rather give the photog an idea of what we like and then let his creative side take over. Hope it helps, I am meeting with 3 more in 6 weeks. Decisions decisions!!!
