For those on the hunt.

Nordstroms carries Nadri, so does Lord and Taylor (and they carry different pieces too). I have a couple of Nadri peices and they are knockout.
Macy's carries Elliot Danori (made by Nadri, but a little more affordable-- Sunny D's jewelry). They also have a few other brands

You can also look at Regina B (which is the designer of my earrings) and Debra Morland of Paris (Violet's designer). Regina and Debra are pricier than the other two... My Regina's are running about 200, and Violet's I think may be higher in price. Regina has a nice website that you can see all of her designs and click on them to expand-- but you are stil being sight unseen.

Also Tacori does costume jewelry through QVC now and some of it is really beautiful.

Also 'emitations' is a webstore that has designs worth looking at. I've never used them personally though.

www.swarovski.com is also worth looking at. I own a pendant from them that everyone thinks is real, don't take care of it, bang it around and it's held up for years. Nice quality stuff.

thanks gypsy! I just started my accessories browsing!

Hey thanks for the info Gypsy! Just wondering - now that you have your Regina B''s would you say they were ''worth'' it? I would love to buy some used from another bride, but am at the point I am considering buying them new. Just wondering what you think of the quality/overall look of your earrings.

Thanks!

WOW! this is great! Thank you Gyspy! you are a star :)

doodle... can't wait to see what you pick with your lovely gown!

October... they aren't in my hot little hands yet. They're only in the mail. Will make sure to tell you what I think when I have them though. They have a long order leadtime though, so beware of that. I ordered mine 6 weeks ago.

Hi mintve... thank you honey! I love chandelier earrings so it was pretty easy to just post the information. Can't wait to see what you chose!

Sending out some more love for Nadri!

First of all I second the Nadri recomendation, really lovely stuff and you can get it at Nordstrom''s! Which I think rules because it''s a) they''re everywhere and b) easy to return.

I almost bought Regina B but sight unseen worried me... also Gypsy do you recall the restocking fee? My original idea was to order a few pairs then return them, you have 7 days from day of receipt to return them or else! And it''s like $25 a piece to restock I think? I was thinking four items so that would have cost me $100.00. The website is great though! Also someone posted on here a pic of the ones they tried on at Regina B if that helps at all. I think one of the concerns also was weight, are they heavy, light, etc?

Can''t wait to hear your report about it when you get them Gypsy. Maybe at the next GTG we can compare?

My earrings are are posted (albeit blurry) in another thread. I will re-post clear pictures later. I got them in but they put some ivory instead of white on them so they are being sent back to be re-done. My earrings were called ''Shanghai Suprise'' and are really really lightweight on, not at all heavy as you may think from looking at them. And Gypsy is right on price... I just checked my receipt.. $388.80 pre-tax... made by Debra Moreland is Paris. You''d be amazed at how many pieces she has though, so many to choose from and with a wide variety of matching head pieces it''s TDF. If she has a trunk show in your area, GO! She''ll custom make pieces as well. She considers all of her pieces custom made though which is why it takes awhile to get them and you can''t really buy them online.

Oh that reminds me Gypsy... I''ll start a new thread... I want to post about after wedding items... thought I''d note it here since I know you''ll check back on this one.

WOOHOO! i jsut came from Nordstrom''s and I was drooling over the Nadri earrings. I bought two pair to ogle and determine the best fit for me. Now I was more...a bracelet maybe :)

So Gypsy - did you receive your earrings yet?

Bump!!!!

I want to see Gypsy''s and Violet''s earrings!

Well, I should have them here today or tomorrow. I transposed numbers on my credit card number, so there was a bit of a delay in getting them out to me. But they are on their way. I can''t wait.

Okay so I finally got over to my moms where the Regina Earrings were and saw them.

They look just like the picture and are perfect for the look I''m going for and my dress.

But that''s not your question... your question is, Regina B''s are expensive and are they worth it.

Well, they are VERY shiny and attention grabbing. The crystals are like disco balls and the metal is high polish and they seriously gleam. They are the VERY noticable, and not just because of the size (3.5 inches long and 1.5 wide). The pearl drops are large too. They are not understated in any way. In terms of actual jewelry quality... it''s hard to say. I''m used to Nadri''s execution where the costume jewelry is a copy of real jewelry in terms of the way it''s set. So that it''s set with prongs and the pave looks real, and so forth. These earrings aren''t like that. The crystals look, I don''t know, glued onto the metal for lack of a better description. So I was really kinda surprised by this. You can absolutely tell they are costume, unlike something by Nadri that like I said, looks like a copy of real pieces. The quality reminds me of the whiteaisle hair clip I bought for 30 something bucks. The hair clip was just right in terms of price and quality.

My mother didn''t care for them until she saw them on, and though she was the one who encouraged me to splurge on them, did say that they did not look like 200 earrings to her. She wanted me to drop everything and go to Saks to find a different pair of earrings. But once she saw them on, she liked them, and I have to say I did too. My thoughts on this are... I couldn''t find anything that suited for less. Since I am wearing ONLY earrings, since I love large earrings, and I will be wearing my hair mostly down and need something really noticable... they are worth 200 to me. But I don''t think they are for everyone. And I''m sure Regina B is making an absolute killing buying these in the far east and selling them here to brides under a sought after brand name.

I don''t think they are peices I would wear again because of how large and in charge they are, so I probably will sell them after the wedding I''m thinking.

Would I buy them again? Yes, because they suit me and my needs perfectly. But I might have looked around a bit for something else tht was a little less expensive. They would have been more my ''fail safe'' rather than my ''go to.'' But on the plus side, as they are a sought after bridal designer, I don''t think I''ll have a problem selling them after the wedding at all to another bride.

Okay so here''s the stock photo of the ones I bought, this photo SERIOUSLY understates them. They GLEAM folks. Discoball crystals.

Darn it for you getting the pearl ones...I''d so want the crystal ones. They are on my list and everything.

Freke, I think you can buy the dangles from them or pay to switch them out or whatever. I was going to buy them from a knot bride and she had the crystals and said she could send them in to get the pearls for me. But then she decided not to sell.

Here's the best illustrations of how the crystals of my earrings are set. See the crystals on the outside of the broach, how they just sit on top of the piece? There are no prongs? Glue is holding them on? Well, thats how the earring's crystals are set. It's very pretty, just not what I was expecting. The crystals are clear like the outside ones here (not the aurora borealis ones surrounding the center pearl).

Yeesh...I''m going to ask for macro pics of any expensive jewelry I buy online then. Lol. Because, maybe it''s just me, but that''s BAD...

Yeah. Like I said, for 30 dollar earrings. Great. For 200 earrings, not so much. I''m still within my return window, but I don''t think I can find anything else.

I know I''ve been bad but I promise to get my pictures up soon, and you guys can see the quality of them in real photos. Up close, they aren''t that fantastic, but they look AMAZING in photos!

Gypsy, I THINK I have the exact same pair but with crystals...
Freke...I think I have the pair with crystals.

I''ll try to find a good picture this week!

What about my earrings, would those work for you? I have that blurry pic in my original post but they have pearls and crystals.... something borrowed?

They had to have mine re-made though since they used ivory instead of white... they should be back soon but not sure how soon. I can check!

If you can get those back in the mail by 7 days from receipt (get that postmark!) then you can return them.

Violet, are you sure? You don't want to wear yours first? It's a generous offer (very generous) but, I want to make sure you're okay with it. But if you are... I can just send them back to you priority (with signature) and it would be awesome.

HI Scarlet, yeah mine are at moms so no pics of mine forth coming. They do look like they''d photograph well.
