Mine was Bunza.

My older sister told me that Mom named me Bunz-uh-cologne because my diapers stank to high heaven.
Later it was shortened to Bunza and then just to Bunz.

This is very embarrassing, so don't tell anyone.

What was/is your nickname and why?

Moose.

Because I look like a moose compared to my small family. I'm nearly 5'10" and they're a bunch of shorties. My sister is The Weasel. These are our nicknames to this day, though The Weasel usually calls me "Mooseypoo" and I call her "WeaseyPeasey".

My brother does, so I was generally known as "Nicknames Sister". So much so that I was going to put it on the back of a shirt and my license plate.

When I was little, mom called me Squeeter. Or Squeets. No idea why, and she doesn't either. My Gramma called me Missilissa, Grampa called me Love, Dad still calls me Girl. JD calls me Sweets or Boss. My brother couldn't say Missi when he was little so he called me Finny. (I'm a bit partial to that one, I admit) Now he calls me Missah-after an episode of South Park when Eric Cartman rode around on his hotwheels in a cop uniform and yelled "Respect my authoritah". A job I had years ago, I was called Rocket b/c I was fast at it.

My DH calls me "Beautiful". I call him "Handsome". I call my DD "Gorgeous".

We all get along great. :praise:

Lulu, of course. But when I was little my grandfather called me koza, which is Polish for a baby goat.

hahaha

no nickname for me :) but FI and I sometimes call each other [name]friend (as opposed to boyfriend/girlfriend)

This is kind of embarassing - but I'm really bad with phrases (I can never for the life of me get them right) and I couldn't remember the phrase "What you talkin' about, Willis?" from Different Strokes and I butchered it big time, getting basically only the Willis part right. DH made fun of me for it for a few weeks and we somehow started calling each other Willis.

The name Willis has stuck around for everyone in our household. I'm Willis, DH is Willis, the cats are Willis-cats. Sometimes it's shortened to just Will.

Only two people have a nickname for me, and that's my BFF from school, and FI's mom. She's the one who started calling me Manderz, and on occasion she calls me Mandy too. Everyone else calls me Amanda. FI's mom started out calling me very foul names (it's a term of endearment to her, she swears like a sailor), and now she calls me Man most of the time.

ETA: Now that I think about it, I could really use a nickname, as both my brother and FI's brother are seriously dating Amanda's. I"m going to have to hyphenate my name so I don't have to share :)

Pander Bear.

My name is Andrea. My step dad always called me "Ander Pander." It then evolved into "Pander Bear." When I was a little girl, he would tell me elaborate stories about the pander bears who lived in the forest.... I hung onto every word.

People still call me Pander.

La Doo Doo. My older brother has called me that ever since I can remember. My nieces and nephew refer to me as Aunt La Doo Doo. Nice.

Kenny, or should I say Bunza, reading the story behind your nickname cracked me up! It's so funny how some names just stick. Bunza is brilliant!

My father called me Punkin, but my mom really didn't so I haven't heard that one in a looonnng time. My sister is the ONLY person allowed to shorten my name to Hol, anyone else would be risking life and/or limb trying that one. My husband calls me Pussycat a lot. That's about it.

I have a bunch.. but a version of "bean" is usually used.

Winky. All my parent's old family friends still slip and call me that occasionally, my father called me Wink until he died when I was in my 30's.

Very few people call me Michelle, it's Shelly or Mish.

DH calls me "Puddin pops", or the more formal, "Waffles McPuddin pops". Don't ask.

Reni and Renis

Story. Reni is my nickname in my family gave me (pronounced Ree-knee). My mom sent a care package when I was at camp one year and the inside had little packages labeled with our names. There was no punctuation on the packaging so mine simply said 'Renis'. Hence, Renis. 16 years later, that is still my nickname.

What can you do?

LOL.

I have a few...
My late grandma called me 'Dollface'
My extended family calls me 'Katie-did-it', or 'did-it' for short
My DH used to call me 'girlface' in highschool. Now he calls me 'kiddo', 'miss' or 'misses'

I call him Hunk.

This is cute!

My dad called me Sweetpea when I was born. They also started calling me Bendamolina. It's from a book about a cat with a pot on her head to drown out the noise of the other kittens mis-hearing all the directions her mom gives her. When I was born the baby hats were too big for me so they tied one side in a knot and it looked like I had a pot on my head, lol.

My mom still calls me Molina to do this day.

One of my friends calls me Animee, because I used to like anime a lot.
DH calls me Monkeypie and Love Chunks. No idea why lol.
My best friend from kindergarten calls me Aimee Jo.

Red - since I have red hair. There was also a less PC term for red heads in high school (see if you can guess what it is)- I think it was used behind my back for a while because people thought I would be really mad. When they finally told me, I just thought it was hilarious and then they used it in the open.

A lot of people have called me by my last name (maiden name at least). I guess it's fun to say?

My husband calls me Big Momma. People think it's hysterical since I'm thin. A lady in Sears looked at him very seriously and told him he should have his eyes checked.

Sure. It's Curly Sue.

I once had a boyfriend I called Pluggums.

Don't ask, don't tell.

Jame was a big one, or Jam. My dad used "sugar bear" a lot and my grandpa called me "tumble turd". I have no idea where that last one originated. I have no associated poo stories to make it funny either.

I'll bet there was a memorable diaper-changing event.

If there was, no one has ever told me. At least it'd be justified if they did.

That's a great nickname, Aliciagirl!

I'm with you on this one, by the way. We really speak in movie lines in my family, and I'm always botching them up. The worst was when I tried to evoke Ron Burgundy and yelled "I want to be in you. I want to be in you!" to my sister across a parking lot. The real line, of course, is "I want to be on you." Ahh, the horrible, horrible embarrassment. At least I've never invited anyone to the pants party.

AHA! NOW I can finally place your old PS name.
FINALLY! I've been trying to figure it out for weeks!

Mine is yennyfire. I am a redhead named Jennifer and as a baby, my dad started using this nickname and it stuck. Mostly, he calls me "yenny" these days....

Prana -- ha, I've been called Zoe-did-it for as long as I can remember. Zoe's not my real name though.

DH calls me variations of Hunny -- Hunny Bunches of Oats, HBO (abbreviated version),Hunny Bunny, etc.
I used to call him Sparky but he decided he didn't like it, so now he's just Hunny.

My dad calls me Baby Girl or Wild Child.

When I was a kid my aunt called me Shelly (My name is Michele) but nobody's called me that in years.

I have a friend who calls me Red, since we have the same first name and she's a blond and my hair is red.
