Can I Get Some O' That Fabulous Dust, Please?

We put in an offer on a house today, after searching diligently for the past 4 months. I'm not a frequent dust-requester, but having seen it work for so many posters here I thought it couldn't hurt to ask! It's FSBO and I'm really worried that we low-balled him, but we definitely offered more than it was purchased for in 2006, so we'll see what happens. Thanks all in advance for your positive thoughts and dust!!!

Lots of dust to you! In most markets houses now are worth less than in 2006 (unless they put in a lot of work), so I think your offer is probably a good one, even if it's low based on asking!

Thank you all so much! We heard from our realtor today via text that the seller will have an answer for us tomorrow, so it sounds like he might be willing to at least negotiate, which is promising! I'll definitely post here as soon as I have more info. Thanks again everyone for the positive thoughts and dust, I appreciate it tremendously.

El--thanks for relating! It's been a long roller-coaster of a search, and I know it's not usually an easy feat, but the first time I was involved in buying a home it was NOTHING like this! I think the first time around we looked at 10 houses, found one in the newspaper that had gone on the market that week and after seeing it the same week and putting in an offer it was ours. That was probably a 3 week search, view, and offer process but was also close to the height of the market in early 2004. My, my, how times have changed!!! I really had no idea it would take us this long and be so up and down. Are you guys experiencing the same thing?
