I''m currently looking for a MUA for my wedding and i dont really know where to start....whats the average price? Do MUA usually charge for trials? any info would help! thanks!
Go to ProjectWedding.com and make sure you set the preferences to "Bay Area." There's a forum on that board that is quite helpful, and there are also vendor reviews, specifically on hair and make-up artists.
Also, I think it was Gypsy who posted not too long ago about her fabulous make-up trial with Maria Chang from professionalmakeupartistry.com. She's quite expensive, but apparently well worth it if you can afford her.
Some people have also had good experiences with Sherrie Long out of the Bay Area, http://www.sherrielong.com/.
There is no "average" price. The price depends on the individual artist, and also whether you go to the studio, whether they come to you, where your wedding will be held, whether it's just you or also you and your bridal party/mom, whether you do airbrush make-up, and other factors. Usually they do charge for a trial. Some will put the cost of the trial toward the cost of the wedding if you book them, but that varies with the artist, so be sure to ask for their specific policies.
Good luck!
