Hi there Wordie89! I have a question for you. Your profile picture has a picture of a dog, is it safe to say this is your dog? I'm curious because SIL got a puppy and he's 8 months old now. She got him as a cockapoo, that's what the breeder told her but he's looking more and more like a goldendoodle... I was wondering if you had any puppy pictures to share because your dog looks very similar to how SIL's puppy is growing to be. Thanks!!!

Yay T ~ it's my soft coated wheaten terrier (wheaties). He's long haired when I can stand grooming him regularly. The breed is bigger than cockapoos and labradoodle (, the standard is about 24 inches). I think they often resemble each other in hair and coloration. He's a great family dog, little shedding but has to be groomed. Some owners refer to them as velcro dogs. Not only does their coat pick up all sorts of twigs, seeds, leaves, they follow you around.

The other one is him comfy cozy on the bed when he was 2. 00000000_00000010.jpg

Oh my goodness! That picture with him all cozy is adorable! Thanks for sharing the pics!

SIL is so confused with what breed Leo actually is. The breeder lied about the puppies and as time goes on, we keep finding more lies. I told her to take precautionary action and make sure she sees the mom and dad on site and tour the whole household but she was so excited, she didn't. So she never saw the mom or dad, only pictures. And we just found out that those pictures were from 2009! So, we are just trying to figure out what Leo is.

He's bigger than a cockapoo, he's 8 months and about as big as one of my springers. Has extremely long legs, but then again, he is in his teenage awkward stage:) but his face looks so much like your baby!

Wordie, I LOVE YOUR DOG! What a darling adorable guy! :appl: Wheatens are great souls.

Yay T~

What a cutie!!! In the full length pic he looks very wheatie. The one of him laying on the sofa I think I can see the spaniel. Wheaties have dark markings on their face when they're puppies. But they outgrow it. Tails are usually docked.

You gave your sil good advice about seeing the parents..... even akc papers don't guarantee the dog is going to be a good specimen of the breed. Whatever he is, if he's healthy that's a huge plus.

Well, I am officially In Love. What a honey.

YayTacori -- I LOVE the pic you posted of your SIL's pup on the couch! That's now my favorite one here. Adorable!

Wordie -- What a cute wheaten! My husband and I looked at different breeders a few years ago when we were planning on getting a puppy. We've put that plan on hold until it's a better time (and until we have a bigger house), but wheaten's are still on our short list.We love them and we've heard so many great things about the breed.

Zoe, when you're ready that Wheatie will just take hold of your heart!

Jewel for us, he's a member of our family. He travels with us and everyone really enjoys him. Ours its a little unusual in that he doesn't do the Wheaten greetin, jumping up against people.people are amazed at how soft his hair is ... when its clean ;-) they do look their best with daily grooming. I brush him when we watch TV. You can't skip tip much or it gets tangled and the knots will bother him.

Oh my gosh, both of these doggies are adorable!!! Gah, I want to reach into the picture and snuggle with them! I miss having a dog so much!

completely agree with Junebug - both puppies are sooooooo irresistable!!! Oh my !! look at those little puppy faces - and their little button noses!!! And their soft fur that looks so precious!! Oh, I do love Wheatens and poodle mixes - cockapoos, labradoodles, shnoodles... they are all so precious.

I just want to snuggle into them and grab their sweet faces and go "mooshy mooshy moo"!!!! (how stupid does that look, when you translate to words, what you say/do with a sweet dog!?!?! dumb!! )

Give them both a good hug and a rub from Enerchi!!!

I will make sure to tell SIL that she needs to grab Leo's face and go "mooshy mooshy moooo!!!!"
