Hey, I just read your input on the carscope thread.. :) I was *just* looking through diff sites for SoCal vendors that rent out classic cars just to bookmark for when the big day comes.. But I was thinking it might be cheaper to rent one off an owner than a business? SO's car has been "rented" before for a Hip Hop music video for only $200/day out in Brentwood (but he wasn't trying to make $, he just wanted to share his Baby.. And we actually ended up LOSING $ from the crappy MPGs and the long drive to get to the set!).. I was wondering if you have any input on searching for an owner?

This of course is all premature anyway, since he hasn't popped the Q yet, but we are tentatively hoping for a summer '13 wedding. I was just hoping you have a direction to send us to :)

Just saw this! :) Hi! :wavey:

Yes, I have a few leads depending on what kind of car you want and what condition. We have 2 - but one is a coupe and the other is not show condition (but really nice on pics!).

The place we had our wedding actually rents out the cars with a driver and they have some FANTASTIC cars - how about a Duesenberg? ;) It's not on the website, you may have to ask the coordinator.

If it's out of range, report back on what type of car and budget! :)

Ah, I really don't know what kind of car  I don't know anything about cars, except that the old ones make my heart sing  I don't want a muscle car/ sports car.. I was thinking more like one of those old Porsches, or something? Anything old and cute looking to add on to the 'vintageness' theme that I'm aiming for. I don't want white or cream colored cars.. and prefer black, but a dark maroon or navy would be beautiful as well.

I need to pay a visit to that museum!! That looks soo fun! I'd love to go on a Sat or Sun and actually sit or ride in one! I can't find anywhere on their site that says they rent anything out, though?

Funny you mentioned on the other thread that you met your DH from a car meet! SO DID I! Well, not DH yet, but hopefully soon to be  My friend's then new boyfriend invited her out to hang out with his car buddies, and she felt awkward to be just sitting there with strangers, so she took me along with her.. 2 days later, I get a FB friend request from none other than my other half.

I brought up possibly doing a tradesies with someone, and suggested he start car forum-ing again, but he nixed that idea quickly. He won't even let me drive his car, is what he echoed. HAH. Jerk.

Anyway, what I was picturing was something like this:
http://www.classiccarpartsgiant.com/includes/images/Classic_Car_Parts/Vintage_Parts/v-porsche.01.jpg
and tying up jagged, rusty cans up in the back like in the old cartoons and shows, with a "just married" sign stuck there, just for photos. Had to add the just for photos part cus I wouldn't dare ever tie things to dangle and scratch up ANY car!

That's a suuuuper rare car (Porsche 356 - the kind James Dean crashed!) and I'm going to say that I'm pretty sure no one will rent those out given how rare and expensive they are. However, they do make fiberglass replicas so perhaps you can find someone - I couldnt' find anything on Google. Doing a post on a Porsche forum like Rennlist may help.

Or maybe you can find something similar. As well, pics in a coupe are going to be tricky in a big white dress ;) It can be done, just tricky! :)

Another option is to take engagement pics at the Auto Museum or with a car! :) You really are so rushed on your wedding day that you may find this alternative better so that you get full use of the car.
Our photographer was awesome! And very well priced for a So Cal photog of that caliber: http://www.anthonycarbajal.com/index2.php
He doesn't have his engagement prices listed. And his prices are even more awesome when you realize he edits ALL of them professionally, then gives you a DVD and release so you can get them printed out cheaper at Costco! )

Yeah, I was thinking a convertible or something, so we can take photos IN it. It doesn't *have to* be a porsche. I just don't really know the types, and think they're all adorable steps into the past.

I don't know how to get onto your photog's website.. For some reason, it loads as a white page with a dot in the center? I see he's based in Temecula, though? That's the area SO lives at, and I will be moving to!

They have a ton of convertibles at the museum, I don't think they allow all of them to be rented but definitely check into it. Going on the days they allow rides is FUN!

I checked on my iphone and the photog's website isn't loading - I'll let him know it doesnt' work on mobile. Try from a computer...
In the meantime, you can also see his pics on FB:

The best part is that in addition to his awesome kills, he's so nice and enthusiastic - I think my entire family fell in love with him! :) He's in Temecula but shoots all over!

I didn't see that photo? I swear I went through all of his pics! I seriously can't figure out why I can't go on his site. All I see is a big polka dot in the center. I thought it was some fancy flash thing, and kept clicking around… nada. I sent you a FB request and message! =)

you're ridiculously beautiful, WD!
