I would like to know if there is a powder equivalent to CC cream. I like CC cream in the winter because it's quick, feels lightweight and evens out skin color without looking heavy. In the summer heat I get a shiny face so try to avoid creams. I've used mineral powder and like the effect, but have to use a primer first and would prefer a one step powder solution. Does something like this exist? Thanks!

Bare Minerals makes something called a Mineral Veil which I really love, it's like a light powder primer that is translucent.

Hi Elliott! Can you wear mineral veil on its own? If yes, does it help even out your complexion or is it completely sheer? Thanks.

You can wear it on its own. It sort of blurs your complexion and reflects light in a way that evens out your skin without needing to blend in liquid foundation. I like to pair it with MAC's Strobe Cream, which is a light moisturizer that brightens skin and calms it down without making it oily or shiny.

I have really sallow dull skin under bad circumstances, so wearing a lot of face makeup even if it's nice makes me look old. This stuff makes my skin look fresh and clean.

You may also want to try Stila OneStep color corrector. It's a matte liquid that I often use instead of a foundation. Great for splotchy patches and dark circles.

I was going to suggest the same thing! It's been a while since I have used it because I am obsessed with BB cream (which may be lighter than CC). I remembered it was very lightweight and looked great on the skin.

I use a BB cream daily, just to even out skin tone, as I don't like foundation. But in the winter my face gets disgustingly dry, so then the BB looks flaky. During these months I press on Chanel Translucent Powder. It's beautiful, silky, light & gives great coverage without my dry skin making it look yuk.

You might also want to try Jane Iredale BB cream! Much better for oily skin than most, it is kind of dry. NB! Use a VERY small amount. My skin is dry + oily and breaks out easily, so I have tried a lot of alternatives but this is the best so far for me :-)

Alex T, Thank you for mentioning the Chanel power. Sounds like something I need to try.

I have been eyeing this product for some time, but haven't tried it. It's called a CC powder. It seems to get good reviews.

I like IT's makeup - love the CC cream, and set it with their Bye Bye Pores finishing powder. On light days I use BareMinerals matte powder - frequently get compliments when I wear it. Ulta has a good return policy, so it can't hurt to get some and try it - I'd be interested in what you think of it!

Philosophy: Airbrushed Canvas powder.
It looks like it's discontinued and only sold on a few sites though :(
Powder foundation just isn't "in" anymore.
