I know you DIY'd your makeup for your wedding. Can you tell us, what you used and how you applied?

You look amazing in your photos!

ETA: by how did you apply I mean what steps did you take to make it camera ready but not too heavy.

first, let me mention a couple of things. 1- i went to mac to get a trial done. this allowed me to get the right foundation colors + eye color options. i already was a mac fan, so the $40 i would have spent anyway got me a trial in addition to the products. 2- i grew up dancing, thus applied makeup many many times for recitals. and recitals = heavy handed makeup.

foundation: i used mac studio tech for the foundation. paired with mac blot powder for shine... and i have shine

. i apply the studio tech with a foundation brush. i have the perscriptives one, but mac sells one as well.

blush: i used nars orgasm. and if i had to do it again, i would add MORE blush than i did. or reapply maybe? i had to touch up the blush area in my pictures. i also lightly used a bronzer (not sure what brand) to go right under the blush as a shadow.

eyes: again, mac eye shadow. i can''t remember off the top of my head what the brown colors are, i used like 3 different ones, but the highlight color i used was mac shroom. the mascara i used was kevyn aucion "the mascara" in curling black. i LOVE this mascara. i also used false lashes

i bought lots of different cheapy ones from the drugstore and i tried them all on until i found the right ones.

lips: not sure exactly what color i used, but i know i topped it with the regular lip fusion and also mac lustreglass in instant gold. and i used clinque chocolate chip lip liner.

whew. all that said, i think the mac studio tech foundation is KEY. it blends so beautifully and hides all those pesky flaws. freckles, blemishes, blackheads, uneven skin tone, etc. what''s great about it is that you can use as little (say, if you didn''t want to hide your freckles) or as much as you need of the foundation which determines the coverage.

as far as touch ups, i really didn''t do much. i think i touched up once in the car.

hope this helps. if you have any other questions, i''m here to help

JCrow, if you said you have shine, then did you feel like your skin was getting oily towards the end of the night? I HATE foundation because my skin tends to be on the oily side, and if I blot with powder, I feel like I have on so many layers towards the end of the night!

i have oily skin regardless of what foundation i use. the blot powder by mac isn''t as heavy as other powders, so you don''t feel layered. also, a really really awesome powder thing i use are these blot papers. i don''t have them with me, so i''m not sure of the brand. it''s a little yellow book that you tear sheets out of. the sheets have powder on one side. the powder is pretty sheer, so it basically just absorbs all the nasty oil. it works WONDERS and leaves your face fresh not heavy looking after.

oh, and if you are hesitant on the foundation, you can go to mac and ask for a sample. they scoop a bit of it into a pot for you to try at your convenience.

I know the Body Shop has some blotter sheets that are just fantastic. Even if you have blemished skin, they have a tea tree oil blotter sheet that is awesome.
