Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Tacori your daughter is just adorable!!! I vaguley remember how u look from your previous threads, but when i first saw the picture of your daughter my first thought was she looks exactly like u!!!

she is adorable...

Tacori: ooohhhh, I love her! She is so beautiful!!! Awww...I''m grinning from ear to ear too! Man, I wish we could have a playdate. Delaney wants to join Tessa''s frat.....she sounds like a frat boy too...i put her in her bassinet at night and she grunts, farts, and burps forever....LOL...so ladylike. I have to video it to blackmail her later. You should do the same. hardeharhar.

I have a great quote for you, but I''ve had 2 glasses of wine & won''t get to it tonight...tomorrow....I promise. (I have to find the book, page, quote, etc. but it really resonated with me in those early weeks this time...kept me going in the middle of the night).

Ella: I only cook when Steve is home and can watch Jake...otherwise its EasyMac for Jake & Lean cuisine for me---they do not let me cook without pitching a fit it seems if hes not home. LOL. But I love cooking so its torture not to have my creative time in the kitchen for the most part.

later..

Congratulations, Tacori, Tessa is so beautiful that she doesn''t look like a newborn!!! Really!!! She looks far older than she is because her features are so perfect. I love the rounded cheeks and the full head of hair. My daughter had the hair, too ;-). In the middle of the night I always fed her, by the way. That seems to be all she ever wanted. Tessa may have different reasons for crying, though! You will soon know her inside out and know what every little cry is for!

just checking in on all the future and new mommies today. I hope you all are feeling well and had a great weekend. I head to the dr. tomorrow am for my ultrasound. I admit to being a little nervous since we opted not to do any of the screenings or amnio so tomorrow will reveal a lot along with finding out the sex. hope you all have a great night.

Tacori, congratulations!!
36.gif
Tessa looks so beautiful and healthy! You and hubby are so lucky and blessed to have such a perfect little girl. I''m glad you''re home ok from the hospital. Every birth story I hear I am in awe of each woman. I hope I am that strong! Enjoy her, and congratulations again!

Good luck today, MrsS!!! How many weeks are you now? I hope little BabyS cooperates and lets you know what he/she is!
2.gif

Tacori, how''s week 2 of being a new mom treating you? Hope your infection is clearing up and that BFing is becoming easier by the day!

OMG, Tessa is so precious. Her big eyes are just taking everything in. I love ALL the pictures. I hope your yeast/fungal infection goes away. I had yeast once and everytime the baby latched on, the pain was so bad I literally curled my toes! It seems like bfeeding is going great.
36.gif
I am still overproducing (I have enough milk for my own baby and my niece who I pump for), so I nicknamed myself the dairy cow. For most people, it does self regulate to the amount that baby only needs.

What a gorgeous little girl Tacori - congratulations to you and your family!!!
30.gif
She is absolutly precious!!!

Tessa is so beautiful! Congratulations, Tacori!

Hi Momsies

I am back from my weekend away--had a great time and was happy to see pics of Tessa up this morning. SOOOO kissable, she is amazing Tacori--well done in the baby making department

2.gif

Rebot--thanks for looking into the eczema cream--since i have cut out dairy and lots of sugar and have been using the pure beeswax remedy my mom got me I have had a little relief (thank heavens) just hoping it will continue to improve.I think about the trait thing too--both DH and I are ex-ski racers and are built solidly (read: have thick legs/thighs). I always *lovingly* tell DH that he has hideous legs

9.gif
--he fit in perfectly with all the rugby players when we lived in australia....I am terrified if we have a girl she will have thick tree-trunk limbs.....committing her to a life of avoiding shorts and skirts

Ella, my doc did prescribe another steroid cream for the boobies, but I am going to use it as a last resort.
Funny you should mention the 20 min post-shower routine--I feel like that before going to bed. Goes something like this: wash face, slather face is 2 different concoctions, slather body, cocoa butter on belly, floss teeth, brush teeth, cover hands in beeswax concoction, bandage hands so i don''t scratch them, slather boobs in beeswax, turn on air filters and humidifiers in bedroom, set-up snoogle, get glass of water ready on bedside table, clear path from bed to washroom...!. Nope, not high maintenance AT ALL eh? Hehe

Went to a baby show in Toronto this weekend--bought some diapers (cloth) they are so precious looking, soft and beautifully made. The saleswoman (a mother and cloth diaper user) recommended I buy a couple of different styles in the small size to try them out before committing to buy the whole shabang and potentially being stuck with them. I thought that was a good idea. That way, if we absolutely hate them we''ve only bought about a dozen vs. several dozen.
Also got the wash-cloth warmer--such a good idea. I don''t want to use baby wipes b/c I am allergic them and don''t want to put that cleanser against my baby''s skin. This is a little case that sits on your change table, you plug it in and place a good supply of cotton wash cloths into it, (dampened) and it keeps the cloths warm and clean for the next change. Maybe everyone knows about these, but I am easily impressed by these types of gadgets

A question for you ladies. I''m on week 6 now and since week 5 have been experiencing lower back pain. It suddenly started and has been on and off for a few days but last night it was pretty uncomfortable, and this morning at work I''m having a really hard time sitting here at my computer. I don''t have any spotting and all my other symptoms remain the same.

I thought 5 weeks was too early for back pain? Anyone experienced this so early? I''m starting to get worried [:
33.gif

Hi all, so I had my ultrasound this morning and they said everything looks wonderful and the baby is right in line with where he should be for 18 1/2 weeks..and yes, I said *he* because we are having a boy!!!!!

regalada, I never had any back pain so i''m not sure if it''s normal or not. you can always call your dr. though if you''re worried...

Congratulations, MrsS on your 1st boy, 3rd kiddo. I can attest to the fact that boys and girls are very different. Well, this is a great excuse for MORE shopping (although cute boy stuff is a challenge to track down if one stays away from the typical sports theme, etc).

A boy! Do you have any names in mind?

Congrats MsS. on the baby BOY news-- that''s so exciting. Did you have a feeling either way? I am always curious if women ''guess'' the sex correctly.

Do you feel different now that you know the sex? I have been wondering if I would feel different if I knew (we are going the ''surprise'' route for baby #1 at least, but there are moments when I don''t want to call the baby funny generic nicknames)

MrsS, congrats on ahving a boy!!!!

My mom always said boys were so sweet to raise.

Ella, the more I think about it *if* I was having twins I would have a c-sec NO DOUBT. I remember my teacher saying it was so common to have the first as a VB and then have to have the second by c-sec
23.gif
Not fun having to go through both.

Healing: My stitches really started to bother me last night. When do those usually dissolve? I have a doc''s appointment tomorrow (b/c of the complications). I am hoping they have my cultures back. I am thinking it was a UTI b/c I have some burning (sorry if TMI). By the way for future mommies, my first BM didn''t hurt AT ALL! Felt normal (and I had REALLY bad hemis from labor). So don''t be scared ladies. Just take colace and wait it out. I think mine was 5 days after birth.

Week 2: Tessa has been a really good baby *so* far. I am worried I am going to jinx myself! She seems to only cry when something is wrong (she hates being cold so her first bath was a little tramatic for her) or hungry, gas, need to be changed. Then once those things have happened she is calm. I pray she stays this good! She is so laid back. I still can''t decide who she looks like. Sometimes I see me, sometimes DH. One of my friends said she got the perfect combo. We have gotten out of the house a few times with my mom or MIL. I think I will have a panic attack the first time it is just the two of us.

BFing: It is going MUCH better. Not sure if I mentioned but I got a fungal infection (from all the antibotics) so I have to use these creams, but makes my nipples greasy. So I am still using the shield (though I have BF a handful of times w/o out it which felt like such a huge step forward). Her latch is still wrong sometimes. How do I get her on deeper? Any tricks of the trade? At least there hasn''t been anymore bleeding.

Deb, I thought she looked good for a newborn too! The nurses couldn''t believe how round her head was (I pushed for 2.5 LOOOONG hours). I think the extra week of gestation helped (maybe
33.gif
)

Diver, playdates would be so fun! Aww well! Virtual playdates maybe, haha. Oh Tessa passes gas like a grown man. It is so funny. I told DH he can blame the baby now.

Hope all the other mommies, mommies to be, and lurkers are doing well. I miss PS but seem not to find the time. Once we have a routine down I am sure I will be back at it. My MIL is cleaning my house top to bottom. It has never looked so good. I cried when my mom left on Sunday. This is just kind of overwhelming for me. I am sure with time my confidence will grow. Right now I am enjoying all the help I can get! I am thinking of all of you!

Congrats MrsS!! Boys are WONDERFUL, and having 2 older sisters, he''ll be a little prince. I think there is a ton of cute boy stuff out there, I have never been at a loss having fun getting Jake all "handsomed up". I love boy clothes, he looks like such a little stud muffin half the time. I think it is so cool that you have 2 girls and now a boy. I''m also happy your u/s was nice and uneventful! Congrats!

Tacori: woohoo Tessa! Way to gain! Good job momma.....momma moo-cow...LOL. I''m happy nursing is coming along good for you, it will get easier...she will sleep soon too.

Speaking of Sleep....Delaney had a bottle at 8:30pm and then another at 3:45am! WOW! That''s 7+ hours between nighttime feedings. Oh please lord, let it continue. She has TWO DAYS to catch up to her big brother''s record (8 straight hours of sleep by 8 weeks). Not gonna happen..LOL...but we are on the road...hallelujiah!

Well this ain''t good...my OBs office just left a message to call the nurse....uh oh...i had my pap last week...this isn''t good....oh great...now I have an infection in my cervix. What the heck? I haven''t had sex since before the baby was born, no tub baths before my 6 week appt...my GBS was negative while I was pregnant, and they ran a test for HPV when my pap came back funny and that is negative--thank God. The nurse said I have to treat it iwth a gel suppository antibiotic for 7 days & then they usually re-do the pap & those tend to come back normal. Oh I hope to God there isn''t anything wrong. I''d freak out if I had cervial cancer or some craziness like that. Just yesterday I was thinking of how lucky dh & I are, and how the most important gifts we have are our health & the health of our families. I hope this is *just* an infection. Grrrr......

A BOY!!!! Yay, that''s so exciting!!!

Ahhh....finally able to log on.
For some strange reason, I just couldn''t log on since last Tuesday.
It kept complaining about my cookies setup.
I thought I was locked out of PS forever
32.gif

I was dying here because I can''t get on to comment on the Tacori''s little darling.
So I apologize if my comments are a little bit late/

Anyway, now that I am back online.
Congrats to Tacori

Tessa is a major cutie pie. She looks sooooo mature.
I would never have guessed that those were newborn pix.
I am totally in love with those big eyes and long lashes

I''m so jealous because my baby will get our tiny little Asian eyes

I''m sorry to hear about your infection. Hope they heal fast.
Thankfully, it hasn''t hinder your ability to BF little Tessa.
Sounds like she''s growing like a weed

Please do post more pictures when you have the time.
Rest up and give little Tessa a bunch of kisses for me.

thanks diver. you know we opted not to do any of the screenings or testing so I was a little nervous this morning just hoping everything would be normal and very realived that it is. My world is about to change but i''m excited and once the gal said it''s a boy, my hubby said "now you can get the boat bed from pottery barn you''ve wanted. also diver, i bet nothing is seriously wrong. especially if you HPV came back negative. you might just have an infection from your labor and you''ll be just fine. glad delaney is sleeping a bit better for you too.

tacori, glad you are doing better and tessa is nursing easier. honestly, her just getting bigger will help so much b/c her mouth gets bigger and it''s easier for her to get more boob and not latch on the nipple. just make sure you do not let her get that nipple, you may have to unlatch her and relatch but don''t let her hang on there. it''s so nice you MIL is cleaning and helping you, take all you can get woman. we do miss you but you''ll get into a routine soon and hopefully have a little more time to visit with us

Congrats MrsS on your little BOY.
That's great that the u/s is A-okay.
You must be so relieved.
Your hubby must be grinning from ear-to-ear about having a boy.
How are your girls taking to the news with having a little brother?
Any names in mind for your little prince?

lili, glad you finally logged on. did you ever get your amnio test results back? we''ve been thinking of you....

Congrats mrssalvo on the exciting news! A boy! That''s very exciting!

Lily was in the office with us when we got the news. for about 5 seconds she looked very disappointed but then bounced right back to her normal self an offered me some of her snack. a few minutes later she says, "mom, we''ve got to go get some boy stuff, we don''t have any boy stuff." So, she''ll be fine. my 5 year old is still at school and doesn''t know yet. not sure how she''ll take it but i do think once the baby gets here she''ll be so in love it won''t matter any more. As for names, we''ve got nothing. my husband and I like completely opposite names so my guess it will an ongoing debate for some time to come. Jake is at the top of my list so he''s got to come up with something better or I''ll sign the birth cert. when he''s out of the room

Oh, hehehe, I was so flustered I forgot about it.
Sorry ladies for making you guys worry.
Didn''t mean to. I didn''t get the results until Tuesday, and at the time I was locked out of PS.
Thought I''d violated some rules or something.

Last week was a big week for us.
Went in for the monthly appt, got the u/s, and of course the amnio result.

Everything looks good with the monthly appointment.
Blood pressure and urine ok.
Found out I''m up 10lbs so far.
My doctor did say anything about it, so Jas12, I don''t know why your dr. is concerned about your 14lbs gain at 20wks,
especially when you are probably a good 6 inches taller than me.

Following the appt, I went in for my u/s.
Frankly, I don''t know why they wanted us to have a full bladder.
I had to down 32 fl. oz of water an hour before the appt.
It''s a good thing I drank it an hour before instead of the hour and half,
because after 60 minutes, I was dancing around in the waiting room.
Had to hold my bladder for a good 15 minutes for them to get some measurements before I can go relieve myself.
Let me tell you, trying to hold a full bladder in our condition is more torture than the amnio procedure.
14.gif

Then they did some more measurements with my empty bladder.
Don''t know why I couldn''t have a partial bladder for the initial measurements.
Anyway, after that, they showed us some snapshots of the baby.
Got 4 good 5x7 photo-quality prints of the U/S too :)

OK finally, got the results back from the amnio.
Everything is OK. No extra chromosomes.
All 23 pairs are there...and especially the XX pair
9.gif

Yes, I caved
41.gif
DH really wanted to know so that he can prep for it.

Oh, another thing.
I''ve been feeling the baby kicked since last last saturday.
But the kicks are definitely more noticeble and frequent at 18 wks.
I could even feel the kick if I press my hand against my uterus, for which DH kept yelling at me for fear of pressing his baby
3.gif

So all is good for me.
Thank you guys for thinking about me.

Awwe...that''s too cute about Lily already knowing about shopping :)
I''m sure she''s fine with having a baby brother. This way, she can be your baby girl instead of being the middle girl.
2.gif

Lol, I like your thinking about signing the cert, although it will be harder for you to pull that one off since your DH already
know what to expect with the whole L&D process -- ie, when they''ll come by the the certificate. When do you do the certificate for the baby for the way?

Love your belly shots by the way.
You look so tiny. All tummy like someone had mentioned.
I don''t believe you have 12 lbs on you.
I''ll post some of mine as soon I get some pictures.
I''ve been meaning to keep a running collage of my preggo tummy, but the time just go by week by week.
I''ll have to remember to snap some this weekend.

Congratulations lili! I''m glad to hear about the amnio results. A girl and feeling her kick! How exciting!

Oh my gosh, all this exciting news today!!!
36.gif

MrsS, congrats on BabyBoyS!!!! Not that I''d not be happy if you were having a girl, of course, but I''m happy that you get to experience raising a little boy too. Your little girls are going to be so precious with "helping" you out with their little brother, I''m sure! I was in PB Kids the other day, and someone was talking about their funky-shaped beds and I thought of you! Btw, I adore your girl names, so I''m sure you''ll have a great boy name too!

And congrats Lili on fanstastic amnio results and on your baby girl!!! And aren''t kicks the best?

Regalada, five weeks sounds early to me for back pain - I''d run it by the doctor if I were you. There''s no such thing as a stupid question, especially when you''re housing a baby in you!!

Tacori, yay for a good baby!! I think that as long as you and DH are laid back, then Tessa will be too. And I''m sure that having both sets of moms around has helped keep you semi-calm, so hopefully Tessa''s been in a nice and relaxed(ish!) environment, which is great! You don''t sound too frazzled, and you''ve had a rough week so I right now you''re sort of my role model
21.gif
Keep us posted with updated pics when you can -- and believe me, we understand if you can''t log on that much ... we still love ya though

Diver, no freaking out, woman! Just take the meds for a week and then see how things go. I would imagine that post-pregnancy, lots of things could still happen down there, no? And if they said that after meds, the retest usually comes back negative, then just stay focused on that. And yes, you ARE lucky -- you''ve got two fantabulous little ones, a loving husband, and a great bunch of PS friends looking out for you
21.gif

mrssalvo, CONGRATULATIONS on team blue!!! I''m sure it''s going to be a big adjustment having a boy but it will be wonderful!!!! I think Lily''s reaction was so cute!! I love Jake as a boy name (I''m sure Diver does too!), it''s definitely on my list for the next one!!! Your son is going to have 2 awesome big sisters!

lili, CONGRATULATIONS on team pink!!! And even more importantly, I''m glad your amnio results were good. I hope you''re enjoying feeling your little girl inside of you--it''s so much fun to feel that movement! Any ideas for names?

Tacori, I''m glad you''re doing well and Tessa is a good baby. Can''t wait to see more photos!

Diver, hi!! That Delaney sounds like a superstar!!!!! Lily was the same way with the sleeping in the beginning, it''s only now that things are changing but even that is getting better again. I hope your cervix issue is just an infection. I had that once too and it was no big deal, just had to put that stuff in me for a few days and all was good. I''ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted.
