Bye Mia!

Yesterday, my FI''s family cat had to be put down.

Her name is MIA.

She was a very old cat (18+), and in the past year she had become rail thin and started losing her eyesight.

I''m so sad because she was the cutest cat in the world! When I came over, she INSISTED that I had to play with her. She also always rubbed her nose/face against my toes (why is that I wonder?). When she gets sick, she comes near me and pursposely sneezes on me.

My FI was really distraught. Eventhough MIA annoyed him to bits at times (and me too), she was a fixture in the family. Its so sad to see her go. She will be missed for sure.

I love our animals and dread their passing.

I cried more when my last bird died more than when my own mother died.
I don't really understand it, but animals have a way of burrowing deep into our hearts.
