I think the silver ring I bought in Ireland has been stolen just prior to my move, perhaps by the cleaning people at the apartments we were living at. It was seriously cheap - only like 12 euro or something very inexpensive like that - but it was meant to be a memento of living there and now I have no ring to wear on my wedding finger. If I thought I had bling deprivation before, now I''m just wanting to get a band - any band.

I''ve looked a few times at the 99% gold rings here, they''re a very good price and I would prefer them to be matte than shiny and I can''t get that done here apparently so I''d have to send it somewhere when I got back to the states. I am just feeling frustrated and figured this was about the only place I could complain about what in reality is not that awful of a situation.

My fingers are too big for the girl rings here - I''d have to buy a man''s ring. The asian women are so tiny! That''s not a problem, I tend to like them better anyway lol But as much as I am okay with spending money on what I want, I am having trouble settling.

Honey, I wish I could send you a friendship ring from the states. You sound like you could use one.

I''m sorry

I''m sorry your ring from Ireland was stolen. As to the shiny issue with the bands, can''t you just use a metal pot scrubber pad -- be gentle so as not to remove much metal -- to give it a brushed appearance for now, and then have it professionally brushed/sandblasted later?
