I have a a few fun Holiday functions coming up and I would have liked to have been able to have a few shots of Botox in my (what we affectionately call my 2nd butt) forhead right above and between my eyes. Somedays it is much better than others. My family thinks I should just leave it be, Ha! I just want it to go away!!! LOL

My first question is........has anyone ever tried or have any experience with a tightening cream that can help me even if it is tempoary...say several hours atleast?

and this my hose delima. I am wearing an at the knees almost right above the knee black cocktail dress with some killer high heeled patent leather pumps.

I do not want to go without hose so....
I see so much of the leggin type hose that stops at your ankle with a lace trim in advertising ect which I love but do people really wear that? They would, I imagine, excentuate my ankles which I do like.

Or should I go with one of these options
SHeer hose with a leg seam in the back (sexy but I don't want hoochy)
Sheer with no seam
Opac black
No hose is not an option in winter here...

Having short legs and being a sz 14...but with very nice ankles :) Gotta have a favorite part right !!!

Which do you wear yourselves or have seen on others that you think makes a persons legs look the longest/leanest and the best????

I''ve tried some of the "tightening" serums, but honestly none really help if the line is very deep. Are you talking about the "11''s" between your brows?
Keratase makes a face lift serum, but it is major bucks. Maybe you could wrangle a sample from a sales clerk.

I''m conflicted on the hosiery issue. Can you wear an opague stocking with your dress? That seems to be a good look right now. Or maybe a patterned hose?
Otherwise, I might go bare and make sure my legs are well moisturized.

I''m guessing that you''re dying to try the botox, so... now is as good a time as any. If you can swing it, go for it. One of my friends uses it occasionally for a significant crease between her eyebrows. While I''m sure it makes a difference, the results are not so extreme that her face screams "botox!."

As for the hose, part of it depends on what shoes you''re planning to wear. Sheer black hose is always a classy look (get a high quality sheer if you go this route.) Opaque or patterned black hose could also work, especially if you''re wearing a closed-toe, closed-back shoe, booties, or and edgy modern shoe. Personally, I''d probably try both sheer and opaque with the dress and take it from there.

I would go with the sheerest possible black hose. I myself would never do botox but I know many who would. I just can''t see putting a botulism in my body.

I thought a botox & hose thread would be about old men.

I have used Botox between my eyes for my wedding and liked the results. My line was only on one side, but it did seem to soften my forehead.

I would go for it, and not make a big deal by telling anyone.

As far as the hose, I would go for Opaque. I was at a wedding recently and saw a few women wear them with cocktail dresses.

I think it is a nice look ( and more comfy )

thanks everyone for the reply''s :) still wishing for a tightening cream miracle as that is my first choice, but really want to try the botox.

yes my shoes are closed toe and closed heel

crystalheart1 my first holiday party is November 21st. does Botox take effect pretty much right away? or do the effects take a few days. I have one deep line not two thank god :0

I am leaning towards the opaque. However, I am going to go get a cheaper sheer hose to try out the look and see what I think of it....

When I see it on other women I luv it but when I am wearing it I feel so dark and thick. Maybe that''s not how it looks on my though.

it sure is comfy though. not so much worry when wearing the opaque.

If you have short legs, don''t go for the cut off footie tights. It''ll have the optical illusion of shortening your leg more. (From one short girl to another, lol!) My 5''10" size 6 sister, who has mile-long legs, looks cute in footless tights; 5''4" size 14ish me, not so much.

I''d go for the cuban heel seamed-back tights. They''re totally sexy in a slightly edgy retro way without being skanky. IMHO- but I do have a slightly extreme sense of style, so take me with a grain of salt for what it''s worth. Second choice would be opaque tights, they''re classic and impossible to go wrong with.

I''d wear the opaque black hose. I wouldn''t wear the hose that stop at your ankles, as any time you break up your leg (either visually with color changes or with capri pants, for example) you make it look shorter. A full leg of hose that go beyond your ankle and all the way to your toe is your best bet.

As for botox, I''m with April on that issue. I''d never do it myself. However, if you really want to do it, why not?

I have two deep lines in my forehead, right between my eyes. Sometimes I hate them, and sometimes I trick myself into thinking they give my face character. I know I''m stuck with them because I squint my eyes while I read, and I read several hours a day, so I just have to live with ''em! I have yet to find a cream that does anything to minimize those lines. Botox sounds like your best bet.

If you are considering Botox for Nov 21 - I would do it this week. It usually takes full effect in 3-5 days, but just in case you get a little bruise or swelling a week or so out is safe

Find out how they are pricing it ( by the unit - usually 9-11 dollars per unit) and ask if they diluate the solution - most do but ask the ratio. Try to get a referal of a good Dr.s office. I would stay away from any Spa Centers or Laser Centers etc...

Let us know how you like the results. I only did it once, but I am going to "treat myself" soon.

I think I also need some "fillers "

I prefer opaque hose, myself, but sheer hose looks nice with a dressy outfit, too. I would not wear the hose that cut off at the ankle-that''s not a very dressy look.

As for the Botox, if you want to do it, do it! I don''t think it will make you look weird if you just get it in the one spot.
