In light of recent threads about "asian shopping preferences" and "luxury brands that aren''t so luxury" or "high-priced items in recession times" I thought there''s a pretty wide audience on PS that might enjoy reading this book:
Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster by Dana Thomas
I picked up this book for $2 in a bargain bin at Border''s, and flew through it - VERY good and very interesting! It was a NY Times Bestseller in 2007, so some things are a little dated but not by much. The author explores various luxury brands and how they''ve changed over the past 50 years, and especially discusses expanding markets in Asia. Absolutely fascinating.
