Wow, I haven''t posted/visited PS in too long!!

Anywho, I was wondering if any of you have ever had a bone spur in your foot. An X-Ray has just revealed that I have one on my navicular bone on my left foot. I have had terrible pain in the sole of my foot for the last week and it has made walking very difficult. They also said that I have inflammation of the soft tissues in the forefront of the foot (presumably from the bone spur?) and abnormal narrowing of the joint spaces in my foot. I''ve been referred to a podiatrist but haven''t had my appt. yet.

I''m just curious about experiences of other people and what treatments worked for you. Thanks in advance!!

Hi there, I too have a bone spur which often goes along with plantar fascitis (I''m not sure which comes first). I had problems years ago which went away. What helped me was doing foot exercises like picking up a washcloth with your foot/toes or rolling a tube under your foot (it exercises the fascia which attach the muscles to the bones). Unfortunately the PF has come back, I think as a result of more walking on concrete floors. I will start exercising again!

Bone spurs can be treated in various ways...anything from anti-inflammatory meds to cortizone shots, less restrictive shoes all the way to surgery. Various methods have been practiced over the years to alive the pain caused by these.

Thank you Scorpioanne and Italia for your input. Scorpioanne, I''m glad to hear that it went away...I''ve been in pain for 10 days now and I guess I was concerned that it wouldn''t subside. Thanks again!!

My mum suffers from these also and has had great relief from cortisone injections.
