I recently read a gorgeous book detailing the history of the Virginia MFA’s Mellon collection of Schlumberger pieces- beautiful pictures, original sketches and lots of historical discussion

@FL_runner did you happen to catch the exhibit at the St. Pete MFA Two years ago? I’m just asking since it looks like you might be a fellow Floridian. My daughter and I went on her b-day in 2019 and it was incredible. I bet Bunny Melon was a pro at the air-kiss since most of the Schlumberger pieces looked like they would catch onto other peoples clothes like barbed wire if you got too close.

Years ago I bought a bling book that now might qualify as bling itself.

It is the long out of print 742 pg tome of Fancy Colored Diamonds.
IIRC I paid way less than $100.

I’m actually from Virginia and moved here about a year and a half ago

so I was familiar with exhibit but did not see it down here.
