Birthday Present Help

I'm buying my BF some running shoes for his 25th birthday. Each shoe has the option to write one 6-letter word on the top of the "tongue" just above the laces. Any great ideas for what to have done? I could either have the same word on each shoe or 2 different words (up to 6 letters). I am at a loss!

Bit of background on him in case it sparks anyone's imagination! He is a keen rower, cyclist and runner. I asked him what his favourite motivational quote was an he said he likes to watch Rocky again and again hahaha!!

Aren't the words to the Rocky song something like "Gonna Fly Now"? Maybe Fly & Now or Gonna & Fly?

I always do personalized stuff, then I figured out it doesn't really look custom unless I have a name on it. How about "BF name" & Fly Now?

I don't know . . . that's a tough one. . .

Thank iLander, that's a really good idea - I hadn't thought of using song lyrics from Rocky. His surname actually has 6 letters in it but I wasn't sure if he would feel lame having his name on his running shoes like when he was a school! I know what you mean though... it does make it more obviously "personal", but then I also like the idea of having something with a hidden message.

I got my husband personalized cleats and I just got his last name...guess I'm not that imaginative? But you can't go wrong with his name!

ok I'm not sure what to write but I would recommend getting some neon laces. My FI has these and LOVES them. Plus if he doesn't like them you can switch them out. New balance makes them, you can order online and they are like $2 a pair.

I just tried putting his name on one shoe and FLY NOW on the other but it won't let me have room for the space so it would have to be FLYNOW. Does that look ok? I really like how "Fly Now" sounds because it's a link to Rocky, sounds motivational and sporty but is also quite subtle and only obvious to those who know the reference.

They let me order 2 pairs of laces for the trainers anyway so I think I'll steal your idea and get some neon ones as the second pair! That;s a really good idea, he loves bright colours too!
