Birthday gift ideas for Callisto?

So my mother has asked me to send her some ideas for a birthday gift for myself since my 22nd birthday is next week and I thought I''d ask you wonderful folks if you had any ideas...

My first thought was JEWELRY! But I wouldn''t want to ask her for anything over $100 so that makes things a bit harder. Potentially if I really liked something that was up to $150 I could ask them to contribute to a gift for me, but my funds are limited as well so I don''t have a whole lot to spend.

Here were two ideas I''ve liked so far:

pearl earrings

sterling silver necklace

These are both pretty classic items, but my style is anywhere from classic to a bit more bohemian/organic and if there are colors involved I tend to stick to earthy tones or blue (definitely no purple or pink). Oh and I''ve never really been a bracelet wearer, but i love earrings necklaces and rings.

Non jewelry suggestions are great as well! I really don''t have a whole lot of ideas of what to suggest for her. Thanks!

Is your style really pearls? If not, pass on the earrings. I received a pair of free pearls (about 5.5 mm) for my birthday as a gift (via Helzberg jewelers) and I sit there looking at them every day wondering if they''re me or not me. Not sure what the answer is, but if I had that much to spend, it''d have chosen something that feels more like "me."

Luckyshe- I acutally looked at those white gold earrings earlier. I wish i could see how big they are in person. I know the dimensions are listed but thats still hard for me to visualize. Maybe I''ll get out a ruler and see if that helps.

Makingthegrade- I actually thought about that but I''m not sure if my parents would "get it" they aren''t really jewelry people so I think they would feel odd buying me a stone...

Chargergirl- I love etsy! I just started looking around there lately. I think I''m gonna look at more stuff on there tomorrow. I just get a little overwhelmed with how many items and vendors are on there. Its a hard place to just browse.

MC- thats true, they aren''t entirely me but I don''t think pearl studs are quite as far from my style as say a pearl necklace. My mom has a pair of earrings that she NEVER wears but refuses to give to me (they were a gift from an old friend- but its sad that they just sit in a drawer) and I wore them fairly often when I lived at home so i think they would get decent use, I guess we''ll see if she decides to get them for me haha.
