Fiance and I are *just* about to put our deposit down on the site of our dreams. HOWEVER, I''d like to get married on March 15th (Sunday) its the Ides of March! It signifies impending doom!

Am I crazy? It works perfectly for us on all other accounts. What would you do? FI is not really concerned, but I told him that if we were married on that date, I''d probably blame it for any marital strife we encountered in the future!!

I don''t think I''ve ever heard of this occasion before. i looked it up... and I think you''re safe having your wedding on that day. It seems like its more bark and less bite.

oobiecoo it''s the day Julius Caesar was stabbed by Brutus. Unfortunately, I didn''t spell the title correctly, it is the IDES of March, not the IDEAS of March

Sorry for the confusion.

No worries, I got the spelling in the post''s message before I looked it up. It just doesn''t seem like a huge deal to me though... I think I''d be more concerned if something terrible happened every year on that day or something but it seems like very few bad things have actually happened. Are you here in the U.S?

Unless you or your FI is a Caesar, I wouldn''t stress it at all.

Good, you''ll have a scapegoat

you can blame the day instead of each other. Everyone wins!

I''m not the least bit superstitious, so of course I''d say to not care a bit about it... but if it makes you uncomfortable enough to question it, maybe it isn''t a good idea. I dunno.

Something bad has happened on every day of the year, at this point. The earth''s just been around too long. The whole calendar is tainted.

My dad''s birthday is March 15th and he''s never had any issue with it (i.e. gotten stabbed by men in togas or anything). You''ll be fine.

Chances are, something horrible has happened on almost every day at some point in history.

Wouldn''t worry about it at all!

We are getting married on October 31st so I say any day is a perfect day for a wedding!

My first date with my husband was on March 15th...so to me I think it''s good luck!

My dad and sister are born on March 15th...so far they are both healthy and happy. No "friend" has killed them yet.

you guys are freaking HILARIOUS!

Thanks for the support. It''s crazy what happens to you once you start planning a wedding. I can always count on my PS girls to keep me grounded.
