Hi all. Now that I have a pretty good estimate of how many people will be attending my wedding, I am beginning to worry that I have not requested enough alcohol. I have just over 200 guests attending, and of them, I would say that about 3/4 of them will be drinking (some one glass, some lots of glasses). I am afraid I will run out of beer and wine before the night is over. Does anyone know any of the little formulas to use to figure out just how much I will need to be on the safe side?

I calculate on the generous side. Four glasses per bottle for wine. 3 beers per person for beer(but using only 3/4 of the guest to count). 6 glasses of champagne per bottle-- two glasses per guest.

If you have extra... you can return it. If you have too little... not cure.

Definitely check the return policy and buy extra. My dad had a good long chat about quantity at the wine store when be bought beer and wine for my engagement party. I thought they seemed a little low on beer, and they totally ran out of both before the party was over. Ugh. Not cool. It''s always better to overbuy than underbuy.

Thank you for the good advice, everyone. I am meeting with my caterer to talk about what I need to add. Yikes, what a crazy time.

I don''t know if budget is a concern, but if so, you may want to have a "signature drink". For example, I''m making Sangria....a little wine goes a LONG way when making Sangria. Same goes for Margaritas, or maybe some type of Martini?

Just an idea! :)
