We were just talking about LoL/Pantene Beautiful Lengths a while ago, and I finally bit the bullet and got my hair cut today. I was just walking by a hair salon and decided to duck in a do it immediately, before I could think twice.

Since I''m in Australia, the hairdresser wasn''t too knowledgeable on what length was really a "minimum of 8 inches" (she was like, "how many centimeters is that?"). So she just guessed. It turned out to be 13 inches and now my hair is too short to even put in a ponytail! I work in a lab, so will have to keep lots of pins handy to keep it out of my face when I''m working with infectious stuff.

It feels so light - and man, my hair looks awfully beautiful in that ponytail, all chopped off.

It makes up for the stubby, falling down, wannabe ponytail that''s actually attached to my head! I can''t wait for it to grow out (for me to enjoy a bit) and then get it done again.

Anyone else planning on getting it done soon?

Congrats!!! That is so awesome! I have just about enough, but it would be super short which doesn''t look good on me. I think I am going to try for another 9 months or so then do the big chop. Do you have before and after pics?

It was so spur of the moment, I didn''t even think of taking a photo with my phone before! Now I''m searching through my computer to try to find a recent shot that you can see my hair in (but can''t seem to find anything but diamond pics!).

Waiting until it''s a good length for you is definitely the right idea - this is shorter than I wanted, but it''ll grow back quickly. I think I average nearly a full inch/month of hair growth (shame my nails don''t follow suit).

A aouple of months ago I hair was about 8 inches or so below by shoulders (just below the bra strap) layered so I decided to cut it off to just above my shoulders one length just above my shoulders so glad I did I needed a change and now I am growing it long again but all one length :)

Glad to hear your hair was a success :D

ginger, that''s awesome! I chopped off 13 inches last year for Wigs for Kids. It''s a great feeling, isn''t it? I''m growing it out again and will probably have enough for another donation next year. 13 inches takes an awful long time to grow!
Enjoy your short hair!

I just did a pretty major change last week...
It was spurred on by a former "friend" who copied my signature hairstyle. (I am still fuming about it, btw)

Went ultra dark...brown black and am adding some blue tones in next week (I fight to erase the natural red tones in my hair), got ultra long fringe..medium full, eyelash skimming, which is really versitile...I can do full fringe, side swept or pull them back completely off of my face...may have them cut a little heavier soon bc I have baby fine hair and by day 3 they look thin.
My hair is super long...about 13 inches below my shoulders...had some paneling done and layers razored in...looks fab and edgy in a ponyail, but I can do waves or loose curls and make it sophisticated...it is similar to the style in this picture...

When I lived in London, I frequented V.S. My hair was down to the small of my back, super light blonde with a slight pink tint (sounds strange but was really pretty) and stick straight...I told them do whatever they wanted (needed a change) and I left with a precision bob with amazing fringe...however I found the shorter my hair is, the harder I have to work to make it look even semi cute...I hate spending more than 10 minutes on hair....so as strange as it sounds long has always been the easiest for me to maintain and style...
I envy women with cute, chic short styles...and when I am able to employ a full-time, live-in hair stylist...I will probably keep a medium short fab hairstyle!!! Until then, I will suffer through the hot and heavy days!!!

This is how I have been wearing it for day to day...

Congrats JustGinger- It feels good to have a new do. I am waiting patiently to chop mine all off. I have about 15 inches to give, however DH wants me to have have it long just one more year although, I have to admit that having long hair is super easy for me to maintain - bun and three clippies and I'm good to go,) I will have to take more time to figure out the short do style again and how long that will take me

but it sure is a fun and beautiful and sassy look at times.

Oh yes...please post pictures...would love to see the new cut!

I have actually been thinking a ton lately about chopping my hair off to donate. It currently goes past my bra so its plenty long. My mom will throw a minor fit when I cut it, but its not her hair is it haha. I''ve always wanted to try cutting it short and my curls have calmed down in the past few years so it wouldnt become a fro anymore. We''ll see. It makes me pretty nervous but if I''m feeling adventurous one day i might just go get it done. We''ll see...
