For you bacon eaters. How do you like your bacon?
 
It has to be crispy otherwise I feel like I'm gnawing on a hunk of fat. I don't like the way soft bacon feels in my mouth. I know that I am already eating a hunk of fat, but crispy seems less gross to me.
 
Crispy. But I could eat bacon once a year and be fine with that! Not a huge fan... #2 son, however, would like to petition to make it an official food group!
 
I love it chewy. Crispy tastes too crisp! I do love Trader Joe's Applewood bacon. mmmmm :cheeky:
 
Chewy with a little bit of crisp around the edges. Best of both worlds :bigsmile:

I voted chewy but REALLY, I like it when its right in the middle. If it's all crispy it has to be made the right way - can't be burnt. Anytime I've had crispy bacon, its burnt. :nono:
 
Crisp and dark, please. Pale pink and chewy is really, really nasty.

Crispy but still flexible. Burnt bacon is just as gross as undercooked bacon, IMO!
 
The crispier the better! I like it to stand straight out from my fingers when I pick it up off the plate!

Tguy and his family think overcooked, crispy bacon is disgusting. I thought it was more an American thing?

I prefer mine chewy. But don't really care for American bacon chewy. I love the way Australians cut bacon, yum!!!

apparently it's the same as English Bacon?

Here's a quick lesson on English, American, and Canadian. Seriously, I've had all three and the English/Australian is awesome. Meat and fat together (and not just some teeny tiny bit of meat like the US version). Heaven!!!

OMG. Have I lived a sheltered life, or what?

I had no idea there were people who prefer their bacon chewy rather than crispy!

In my defense, I am picky about how my bacon is crisped, and IMHO most restaurants do not get it right. The secret is to cook it long and slow... :wink2:
 
Crispy!

I buy thick cut bacon and bake it on a pan in the oven for 20 mins at 400. Comes out perfect every time and doesn't get salty like it does when I try to fry it.

I like mine plentiful. I like it thick cut and meaty. And balanced between chewy and crunchy. And now, I'm hungry, thanks.
 
Crispy. And I only eat the meat part not the icky fat part.

Tgal, that is like *Canadian* bacon (which I also adore, but think of it more like ham). This is what my mind conjurs up when I think *b*a*c*o*n*.

I used to love LOVE love bacon before I gave up meat seven years ago. Since then I discovered soy bacon and if you microwave it, it comes out yummmm, crispy. My husband likes to fry his soy bacon and his comes out chewy. I only ever eat mine on a "B"LT sandwich, and that's only in the summer. Don't think I'll ever be able to give up that smoky nitrate flavor completely, soooo delicious!!
