I love it when people make a backsplash a real feature, a lil funky etc..

You come across as pretty funky to me LGK

I ditto a glass tile mosaic - I will definitely be doing one of these one day.

This website has some neat ideas, but they''re quite modern: link

I agree some photos would be very helpful, but in the meantime here''s a few I liked based on your info:

fave if going for restrained look:

That is the EXACT glass tile we have but we mixed it in with white marble.

Well, this isn't the photo I thought it was, lol. Another out of focus long-view, with the whole island. The stove is in the island, it's a flat top range.

So these are the ghastly ''80s globes. There are 6 of them lurking up there. They go so perfectly with the Murano chandelier, right?

Is my husband smoking the crack? Why does he like them? Maybe it''s because some of them are affixed to the 20 foot high part of the ceiling. Regardless, I am definitely campaigning to get RID OF THEM. Anyone else agree that they gotta go?

Awesome Tacori, I love that one!

LGK, I have the same countertops as you I think

LGK, Love your cabinets and floors and granite top. Quick question, I am planning on doing granite tile too but have no idea for the edge. How are you guys finishing the edges?

For some reason, I''m seeing a glass tile with green in it as a good choice. Specifically, a mosaic kind of thing. I''ll try to find an example.

We don''t have a tile back splash, we have a faux tin B-S. It''s called ACP and it''s a thermoplastic material that''s heat resistant. It''s very hard to tell that it''s not tin. Here''s what it looks like finished. Oh, and it can be removed easily without messing up your walls.

Wood molding stained to match the cabinets. It''s an awkward size, but we finally found the right width yesterday at a lumber store.

I *think* we saw this one at Home Depot and ruled it out because glass mosaic would be the same price... I could be wrong. It looks great in your kitchen though!

You also can get a special polisher to shine the edges and use the same granite on the edges. DH does that often.

Thanks for the info LGK. I will have to look into that. My husband is so bad with mitered corners... will be cheaper to just hire someone!!

Tacori E-ring do you have photos of the edges? Pretty please? When you say special polish, do you mean a tool polisher or a chemical to polish the edges?

Thanks for all the help and sorry for the thread jack.
BTW, I love the glass mosaic and the cooper and stainless back splash. But my vote is for the glass mosaic cause it will hide dirt better...I cook all the time and don''t always have the time to wipe things down. Though maybe stainless will be easier to clean and maintain... no grout to worry about!! I am sooo indecisive.

Anyways, I am rambling..... can''t wait to see the finish product. You are so lucky to have a handy hubby.

My granite is similar with more a green flleck. We have glass splashback and you can have them in literally any colour and they are so easy to keep clean and there is no grouting. This is the look and ours a bright aqua blue with maple cupboards

Beautiful kitchen!

Since there are so many warm tones already, I would opt for something neutral. How about subway tile in the same creamy ivory/beige as the floors?
