LOVE the fireplace picture! And do like the 1x2 much better than the square mosaic. Found two more ideas at the same site, you''ve probs seen them but ...

Hmmm...I think I am liking the look of the mosaic too...like Gypsy said, its a little warmer and more inviting than the subway tile. Its also super stylish, and a little more visually interesting, at least to my eye....

eta: I also like the subway tile....its just a cleaner, more traditional style. The mosaic is more modern....just depends on what kind of look you are trying to achieve.

You cant go wrong with either, mmm!!!!

I love the mini subway style. MMM head over to the tile shop off 77. Awesome selection, examples and prices. Ask about a contractors discount. They give it to DH and his mom got it in OH. I can''t remember if it is 10% or 20% off. I''ll ask DH when he gets home.

Hi guys....thanks so much for the input. I went and saw the Sumi-e mosaics and bricks in person and they are AMAZING. The colors didn''t work though...and not to mention that 15 minutes later I found out hubby and 15 other project managers were down sized. Ugh. So let''s just say I''m sticking with the cheaper tile I already picked Wish us luck. The whole reason we moved to NC from NYC was for a better life and the fact that he could keep his NY salary. Now neither of us are working. Thank god for savings and family.
